Stop Making Me Laugh Or I'll Pee My Pants! Go Back! I Lost My Shoe! Trip Report!

Cool about the rumored deals but they never do us any good since we are DVC members. Why can't they do 4/3 nights with Vacation Club points?! :confused3

I love the photos, Lisa! I hope your mom is doing well today. I'm going to miss reading your reports next week. I will definitely catch up when I get back. :goodvibes

Loved your last update. I can honestly say, I've never done that trail. I don't know why. :confused3 I would have loved to have seen those gorillas.
Maybe next time.

I'm glad Lacey got recognized, but I wish her daddy hadn't got caught! At least she knows how much he cares. What a good father :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes.

Good morning Lisa. Hope everything goes well for you today. I pray your mom gets stronger everyday. I know you will be glad to have her home.

Ginny

Keeping your Mom in our prayers for a speedy recovery. Great updates!! I want to take a more leisurely pace at AK next time.

Since you are such a pro at visiting late May/early June, how are the crowds Memorial Day weekend? Is it bad all weekend?

Really good updates and pictures as usual Lisa. You do not disappoint. And Lacey, finally getting recognized. Wonderful. Too bad John got caught. She is just too cute.

The meerkats weren't out cause Mel and I were giving them snacks in the back. They stink but the are cute. You will find out how bad they stink when you get to CBR later that night.

John tried his best to keep it a secret that he asked the castmember to recognize Lacey. Oh well!

Stinky meerkats....too funny!:lmao:

Great update Lisa! I just love the gorillas!!! Animal Kingdom is great! I love animals!!! I always take my time going through the trails. Can't wait to hear about Rafiki Planet Watch! I always visit that place! You get to touch the animals!! However, I will say, that the cow/cattle (whatever you want to call it) does not like me at all!!! Seriously, every single time I go there and go over to it all it does is moo really loud!! Scares the heck out of me!!! LOL! :confused3 Gotta love the Animal Kingdom!!! Can't wait to hear more!!! :surfweb:

We visited the Animal Kingdom just one month after it opened and I instantly fell in love with the park. I am like you, I love animals.

When Hunter was just one year old, he would hold onto the goats and sheep in the petting area at Rafiki's Plane Watch and let them walk him all around. He looked so cute.

I wonder why those cows don't like you? It's okay though because when we used to go there was a donkey in there that would start "hollering" at us.:confused3

I thought of you when Lisa posted that link. Wouldn't that be awesome to have a good offer in the works? Maybe Sheri, Sandi and I could go

I hope that the rumors are true but I hope they extend to our travel dates!

I hope they come out soon; been watching and watching and watching....4//7 would be nice; free dining would be nice; 4//7--5//7w/free dining would be awesome (not going to happen); but the 4/7 w/$200credit would be nice...may be able to get my Feb trip after all!!!!

Fun update on the AK! love Lacey's reaction!!! what a sweet daddy she has!

Keep watching www.touringplans.com too.

I'm glad that John's trick worked but I wish he hadn't been caught by Lacey.

I am going to the Rumors board right now. I can't believe when I came over here the first post I see is about a deal :goodvibes. Am I pathetic or what? I haven't even left yet and I'm already thinking about another trip :sad2:.

You aren't pathetic because I am in constant Disney trip planning mode!

Just peeking in to say that I'm enjoying the trip report and pictures! :)

My husband and I are staying at the CBR in January and I can hardly wait. We've been to Disney World twice together, and stayed at inexpensive hotels off-site. This will be a nice upgrade for us!

Hey! I think you guys will really enjoy the CBR. Hopefully, you'll fall madly in love with it like we did and want to return year after year. For years and years, we stayed offsite at a hotel in Kissimmee. We were perfectly happy there until we stayed onsite at the CBR. I said right then and there.....I will never stay offsite again unless that's the only way I could go to Disney.

I'm so glad your Mom's surgery went well, still praying that she has a quick recovery.

Great Pics at Animal Kingdom, I like to see all the different animals. I really hope there is a great deal in the works and that it is still going on in May, That's most likely when we are going to be there.

I appreciate your prayers. She came home today. Maybe now she can actually get some rest.

I love watching all of the animals at the Animal Kingdom. It's so relaxing.

I hope that there's a great deal for May and June too! Last year, they extended the buy 4/get 3 free all the way to August 15th.

Whew, I had a lot of catching up to do! I am all caught up now and enjoying all of the updates. Glad to hear your mom is doing well. :goodvibes Looking forward to more trip report! :)

You didn't miss too much because I didn't post a lot while Mama was in the hospital. Thanks for the well wishes.

Oh, I'm bummed...our trip is in June. I know that Disney discounting during the summer this year was unheard of, but I was still hoping....

Anyway - looks like you had fun at AK. I have to admit that we don't always have a lot of patience for that park because it's so darn HOT!! But I absolutely want to see FOTLK and Nemo this summer...maybe I'll even get to Everest, since we're going with so many folks that would love to mind the kiddos for us! I need to go during the winter one of these days so that I can really explore this park.

Thanks for the great update, and I hope your mom's still doing well!

Don't give up just yet. When I originally booked our 2009 trip, I booked the last week of May through the first week of June with the buy 4/get 3 free promo. But, then I had to change it to August so I lost the deal. Thankfully, Disney extended the offer and I was able to call and add the promo to our August reservation.

I'm not giving up the hope that they'll add May and June to the rumored deal.

great report

Thanks! I see that you're pretty new to the Boards. You picked a great bunch of fun folks to associate with.:lmao: Seriously, all of us have become fast friends. Welcome aboard friend!

Great AK updates Lisa. I love the walking trails...they are one of my favorite things to do at AK. It always surprises me how many people skip them!

Finally....some recognition for poor Lacey! What a good daddy to give them a little push!

I'm glad your mama came through surgery well. I'm sure that is very stressful for everyone.

I like the trails too. There always seems to be some animal or pretty landscaping just around the bend. I never skip them!

Even though Lacey realized that the castmember recognized her because of her Daddy, she still appreciated the recognition.

Mama came home today!

Glad to hear Mama is home. Give her our well-wishes for sure. I hope you can have a quiet weekend. That would be super nice for you with everything that has gone on the last 2 weeks.

I would love some wonderful deal to come out.

Cool about the rumored deals but they never do us any good since we are DVC members. Why can't they do 4/3 nights with Vacation Club points?! :confused3

Do the DVC members ever get to take advantage of the special offers? If not, that doesn't seem fair.

I love the photos, Lisa! I hope your mom is doing well today. I'm going to miss reading your reports next week. I will definitely catch up when I get back. :goodvibes

Thanks for asking about my mother. She is doing better since she got to come home this morning.

Have a fantastic time on your trip! Take lots of pictures, have tons of fun and eat plates and plates of good food!

Loved your last update. I can honestly say, I've never done that trail. I don't know why. :confused3 I would have loved to have seen those gorillas.
Maybe next time.

The trails at the Animal Kingdom are awesome and the gorillas are so fun to watch.

Lacey and her daddy have a tight bond. She definitely is a daddy's girl.

Good morning Lisa. Hope everything goes well for you today. I pray your mom gets stronger everyday. I know you will be glad to have her home.

Ginny

Thanks Ginny!

Awesome! I can really push hard to DH if there is free dining. That would take off like 6-7 hundred off our trip.

Be sure to keep watching www.touringplans.com too. Apparently, they are "in the know". I would absolutely love it if they came out with free dining for our travel dates. It would save us over $1,000.00!

Keeping your Mom in our prayers for a speedy recovery. Great updates!! I want to take a more leisurely pace at AK next time.

Since you are such a pro at visiting late May/early June, how are the crowds Memorial Day weekend? Is it bad all weekend?

I appreciate the continued prayers!

I usually try to schedule our Animal Kingdom day mid-trip because we don't seem as rushed while touring the park. But, this trip, I had to put it at the first part of the trip.

For many years, we were in Disney on Memorial Day. We stayed away from the Magic Kingdom on Memorial Day and that weekend if we could. Magic Kingdom always seems busier during the holidays. Epcot seems to handle crowds well so that's where we usually went or we scheduled our "sleep in" day for the weekend.

Glad to hear Mama is home. Give her our well-wishes for sure. I hope you can have a quiet weekend. That would be super nice for you with everything that has gone on the last 2 weeks.

I would love some wonderful deal to come out.

I took the day off today because I knew she'd probably be coming home today. My older sister, her husband and their daughter (30+ year old know-it-all niece who hangs on her mother's apron strings like crazy) went to Eureka Springs and Branson for a long weekend. My middle sister had to work because her co-workers daughter has strep throat.

I ran two errands after dropping Hunter off at school and then went to the hospital. The doctor released her and we were home about 10:15 a.m.

Her mouth is still pretty droopy on one side. She's still really worried about that. The doctor seems to think that will improve over time. It's like I told her this morning.....did you want to risk having a stroke or have a little droopy mouth.

The doctor's nurse told her that she could do just about anything except lift heavy items. She can even drive. Will I let her do that? Absolutely not!
We live right next to each other so I am just a hop, skip & jump from her. She said she was going to bed and sleep. Sleep is not something you get much of when you are in the hospital. I am not going to go over or call until she calls me. That's our agreement.

I hope that none of you have gotten your feelings hurt because I haven't replied, individually, to each well wish and prayer. I want you to all know that I appreciate every kind thought and prayer!

Glad to hear your mom is home Lisa! I know that will help her recovery speed up! :flower3:

and I agree with Ginny and Mel to follow; I believe everyone is fine with ONE thankyou, we are not sending you prayers for personal recongnition!!! ;)

We were in AK on the sunday before Memorial Day this year boy was it crowded every park the ENTIRE week was packed!!! I will never plan a trip that week again; I should have known better!:upsidedow But, that was how we were able to go with Dayne's last day of school. although, I think if the tropical system would not have been sitting in the Atlantic the crowds would have been easier to deal with. :confused3

have a great weekend! I know you will be taking care of your mom!:grouphug:

P.S. I have been watching the rumor board, the touringguide, and mousesavers :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Don't send your neice to see me this weekend. I think I'm really busy.

Hunter will be so glad to see her when he gets home. All the schools in are area are closed today for some reason or another. I hope to be out of here in an hour. We are going to Branson for the football game tonite.

I'm like you I wouldn't let her be driving just yet either. It's a good thing Hunter is a big boy or she would be picking him up to hug. If she is like me and I think she is, she wants to anyway. There is nothing that I would love more just to hold them like you did when they were small.

I know about lack of sleep in the hospital. Ridiculous how they wake you every 2 hours. Even when I had a private room the last two times the nurses would not leave me alone.

I think I speak for all your dis friends that we understand you have been a little busy and personal notes are not necessary.

Our best to you and Mom

Ginny

Glad your mother is at home! Hope all continues to go well.

I'm sure most of us on here aren't expecting individual replies to our well wishes! We understand!!! :goodvibes No need to apologize, I'm sure!
