Stop Making Me Laugh Or I'll Pee My Pants! Go Back! I Lost My Shoe! Trip Report!

So sorry to hear about your BIL's condition. I'm thinking of you and your family during this difficult time.

Good morning Lisa.

I am so sorry that your entire family is going through this. It stinks when you don't know what is going to happen with a loved one and looking to the Drs for answers isn't getting you anywhere. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Morning all,

Thanks for all the prayers for my brother in law. I know I said he was a horse's patootie (and he is) but I don't know life without him. My sister is 12 years older than me and got married when I was just five. They dated for years before that so, like I said, I don't know life without him.

Friday and yesterday were awful. They couldn't keep him still long enough to do an MRI. They couldn't give him too many meds to call him down either because of his week condition.

Yesterday, was very bad on my sister. She has accepted that he won't be getting better but it's still hard. He hasn't spoken since being admitted in the emergency room but they know he can hear them because he will open his eyes when someone comes in the room.

Yesterday afternoon, the nurse told the family that he couldn't continue to breath as heavily as he is without doing more damage to his heart. His heart rate was extremely fast and his blood pressure was pretty high. They made the decision to not put him on life support and had to go through the heart wrenching procedure of signing the documents.

As of about 10:30 last night, his heart rate was very slow. They didn't say if that was a good thing or a bad thing. Even if it's a good thing, I can't see it improving the overall situation.

My mother is just beside herself which she doesn't need just a week and a half after artery bypass surgery. I've been doing her housework and running errands for her and tried to get her out of the house to keep her mind off of the things but she wouldn't leave the house for fear of missing a phone call. Yes, we have cell phones but she doesn't care.

I just couldn't stand it anymore so we took Hunter to eat out and to the movies last night. Had to get my mind elsewhere. We ran into three of Hunter's friends at the movies and he got to sit with them. We were able to visit with the mother and grandmother of the kids and it was nice to just chit chat.

Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in 3D was great. I just wish the screens were bigger so we could get the 3D effect more. But it was still nice to get out. That being said, I had my cell phone on vibrate and in my hand the entire time just in case somebody called.

I have a grocery run to make for Mama today but I will be back to catch up with everybody later on.

Thanks for listening to me ramble.

Lisa

, :grouphug: and more . You and your family are in our prayers...

Oh, Lisa, I am so sorry that you and all of your family are going through this. We are here for you whenever you need to ramble. :grouphug::love:

Oh Lisa just so you know we are all here for you.

You are a very strong happy family and will get through this together.:wizard:

I really appreciate everybody's thoughts and prayers. It looks like they have been answered!

This morning, my niece and her husband went to the hospital to visit her daddy. My brother in law held a conversation with my niece's husband. It took a while to get his thoughts together and express them but he talked! I feel that is a miracle in itself.

Of course, we are not going to get too excited because they still have to determine how much damage was done, treat the pneumonia, etc.

Mama is in much better spirits today. I did her grocery shopping today so she's stocked up with goodies.

I want to try and get another installment up tomorrow. Ya'll know I can't get anything done while at home!:lmao:

Again, thanks to all my Dis friends!

Lisa,
Just wanted you to know I'm working on catching up. Just finished page 68. I wanted to make sure your Mama was okay before I stopped. :goodvibes SO glad she is!

I'll try to catch up the rest of the way tomorrow.

One of these days I'm going to actually start my TR. I'm subbing tomorrow and Tuesday for sure. Will has practice tomorrow and his make up game Tuesday night. Christian's make up game is Thursday night. So if I don't have to work I MIGHT get started on Wednesday. We'll see what happens. I still haven't even ordered Photopass. Too much going on. I know you know how that feels.

Loving your AK day so far!

Okay, I just read pages 78, 79, and 80 because I had to find out what was going on with your BIL. So now I only have about 8 more pages to read. Maybe I will get caught up tonight.

:hug:s for you and all of your family. You sure have been through a lot lately! I'm glad you got good news this morning. Hope BIL and your mom continue to improve!

Glad to hear your BIL is a little better, it's great he was able to have a conversation, even if it was difficult. Hope they figure out what's going on soon.

Lisa, I'm so sorry to hear about your BIL. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I know how difficult the decision was to sign those papers. I had to do the same for my dear Ron. It was what he wanted, but it was the hardest thing I've ever done. God bless you all.

Okay Lisa, now I'm ALL caught up. Good thing too cause I gotta head to bed.

LOVIN' your AK day. Brings back memories....;) There's so much I'd like to comment on, but I'm afraid I'd give too much away. It's fun to "re-experience" it though.

Can't wait to read more. And see your Lion King pics. LOVE Lion King every time! :thumbsup2

Oh, one thing I DID want to comment on, was the Give A Day, Get A Day. I'm good with the FPs. I was thinking during this trip that I'd really like to have them. And I love the idea of having them on 3-4 of our days. Here's my problem: you have the be SIX to participate. Chrsitian is only 4. Will we bring him with us when we volunteer? You'd better believe it! I think if you're old enough to pay to get into Disney (age THREE), you should be old enough to participate. I'm not telling my 4 year old he's not old enough to volunteer. I'll just let him think that my FPs are his. You'd think DISNEY would get something like this. Okay, rant over...for now.

And I am TOTALLY with you on hoping they extend out the 4/3 deal. If they don't, we'll be refiguring our trip (though we're definitely going).

So glad to heear there is a light a the end of the tunnel. We are still thinking of you and your family.:wizard:

Good Morning, Lisa. I was so sorry to read that things were not well with BIL this morning. I'm late getting back to DIS, had a busy weekend. But I hope that the improvement he has made has continued throughout the weekend. Please let us know how he is doing, how your sister is doing how you are doing, and that sweet mother of yours!

Thinking of you -

Mel

Lisa, I just got caught up from Friday. Read about the continuing condition of your BIL. It is starting to sound much better for him. Now if they can just keep him stable. We all have those members of our family that you get aggravated at. It. doesn't mean you don't love them any less.

Glad your mom is continuing to get better. Have a great day and keep us posted if possible. Monday here.

Ginny

Lisa, glad to hear mom is feeling better and hope that things got better for your BIL as the weekend progressed.

Good morning! Lisa

Morning all!

I spoke with my sister last night. She said it was a total turnaround in my brother in law's condition. He is talking, asking about the weather, telling my niece to bring his blue jeans to the hospital and more. Yes, it is taking him a while to get his thoughts out but at least he is talking. I didn't get a chance to ask her how his blood pressure, heart rate, etc. was. I had to call her on the ICU waiting room phone and I didn't want to keep it tied up too long.

I will probably be talking with her sometime this afternoon and will give ya'll another update.

Mama is in much better spirits now that my brother in law is getting better. She just couldn't deal with the fact that she couldn't go and sit in the hospital with my sister.

Then, my aunt (my mother's sister) called me crying because she can't come and help my mother (she's not in the best of health). She also was upset because Mama seemed down in the dump about my brother in law. It didn't help that one of my mother and aunt's longtime friends passed away Thursday. And, to top that off, the daughter of the lady who died had a bad car wreck....broke her neck, her collar bone and something else.

I've had a headache for the past week! I just want to run away!

I think I'll do a part of my trip report at lunch just to get my mind off things.

So glad to hear the good news! It really is a blessing, isn't it?

Will be praying for continued healing for your BIL and will also be much in prayer for you and your other family members going through a rough time.

Much love and many hugs!

-Mel
