Stomp is coming to a theater in St. Paul, MN and we're considering going with my teen daughters, one of the daugthers boyfriends, my DH and myself. Would love to hear any reviews....

Riverdance is also coming which we've never seen - would this be a better show?

I haven't seen Stomp, so I can't compare them, but we saw Riverdance years ago and really enjoyed it. I'd love to see Stomp as well. Can you swing going to both?

Saw RD about 10 years ago, still had a few original cast members too. It was fantastic! Haven't seen Stomp but my parents saw it and they liked it. I don't think you can go wrong with either one, so go for what has better seats (or is cheaper or whatever other criteria is important) and enjoy. All things being equal, you could just close your eyes and pick! :teeth:

I have seen both and while they are very different I enjoyed them very much. Riverdance is a lot of dancing and with the music being the support for the dance, and the music , IIRC is from around the world. It is not just Irish Step dancing. Stomp is music made from all kinds of materials and it is phenomenal. Both are different and both are worth seeing.

Unfortunately we cannot see both..... they are only a week apart and schedules and finances just won't accomodate both. We're leaning towards Stomp as daughter's BF plays drums and my DH has always wanted to see it.

STOMP is amazing!!! I was wowed completely. Your teens will love it.

I'd go again in a heartbeat. Fantastic!

Can you tell I loved it? :thumbsup2

I did not see Stomp but saw Riverdance whan Michael Flatly was in it..Phenomenal show!!

I love Stomp! I've seen it twice. I think your teens would love it.

I vote for Stomp! I've been checking for it to come here so I can take ds. The drums are awesome, but the acting and the story is entertaining also.

I think the Riverdance run is ending very soon so you may want to see Riverdance while you still can.

Riverdance would be the choose for us, hands down. Have seen it before and will go again, if it ever comes back to town.

We love the Irish music and the dancing is awsome!

I didn't see Stomp and to be honest I think it would give me stress with all that banging. :scared: I did however see Riverdance and it was amazing! I would go and see it again even if I could. This is coming from someone who right before the show was saying "oh great, 2 hours of clog dancing. Whooppee!" It was so beautiful. princess:

STOMP! rocks. We've seen the touring company three times. My parents liked it so much they drove back (3 hours away) the next night with friends to see it again.

Haven't seen Riverdance, but we really like the video.

I won tickets to see Stomp a few years ago when it was in Duluth - talk about AMAZING! Made me want to go home and bang on garbage can lids and make music with plungers!!

Saw both, liked both, thought both could have been shorter. Didn't wow me the whole time.

In our family, we base things on how tired our *** felt sitting while sitting on it. A show that I absolutley love, like Blue Man Group, does not leave my *** tired at all. A show that bores me to death, like Rent, leaves my *** tired. There was a Meryl Streep/Robert DeNiro movie during which my *** fell completely off my body and I had to stop at the hospital to get it reattached.

My *** got a little tired during parts of both shows, but was in decent shape when it was all over and felt quite springy after Stomp. DH's *** needed a little resuscitation after Stomp, but was doing okay after Riverdance.

Stomp is more a love it or hate it thing, IMO.

Love, love, love Stomp! I wish they would pass this way again next year now that our youngest is old enough to appreciate it.

We took our chime choir the first time: 11 1st-3rd graders. The elderly ladies in front of us were dressed to the nines ready for an evening at the Auditorium. One looks at the other and says, "Why would you bring children to a show like this? :confused3 They left at intermission. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I went to see Stomp! years ago thinking I wouldn't like it, but ended up loving it. I have recently been hoping they would come my way again so I can go. Teens would LOVE it!

STOMP, hands down! We've seen the touring show twice & are going to see it again next month. It is such a fun experience. The music itself is just mind blowing, but there's a lot of humor as well.

If you're taking teens or young people, I would tell you to go to STOMP! It was phenomenal, and my DD's were entranced.:thumbsup2
