We're headed to wdw in oct, me, DH, in-laws, DD10, twin DD's7...my question is, would it be smart to get (rent) a stroller on the days I plan to spend the entire day in a park? I have a lot of 1/2 planned days but our full days are at Epcot and MK...what would you reccomend? Thanks!

Personally, I feel like renting the strollers from Disney is very convinent. If you are staying at one of Disney's Resorts it makes it a lot easier because you don't have to drag a stroller on and off the bus. Also, if it's for your 7 year olds, their double strollers are very roomy. :earboy2:

I'm unsure about the stroller issue also, We are traveling to Disney on Dec.23-Dec. 28. We are traveling with a 3 1/2 yr old and a 21 month old, not to mention a 9yr old. I'm concerned about them running out of strollers. I would prefer to rent so I don't have to lug the stroller on the bus. We are staying at the All Star Movie Resort. Any suggestions? Rent or bring own? Double or two single strollers? Thanks.

I have 3 yr old twins and was at Disney last week. It was difficult to get on and off busses (and tram) with our stroller, an inline Graco. If you are staying at a Disney resort and don't have to walk far to the bus then I would rent a stroller at Disney. Getting a stroller on the bus, with multiple children, is not fun! Doable, but not fun...

I have been to Disney ever year since my daughter was 2 (she is now 7). We always brought our stroller. It was difficult to get on and off the buses with her esp when it was crowded. And we always brought a small stroller (never mind a double). However this time we did a 6 day rental and it was so worth it. They just give you coupons that do not expire, for the number of days you buy. When you get to a park just give them a coupon, they date stamp it and give you a stroller. If you go to another park, all you do is show them the date stamped coupon and you are all set. It was so convinent. The only suggestion I would have is to bring something to put on your carriage that will help you find it in a sea of similar carriages. We always stay at the BWV so it is a short walk from the boat or bus to the hotels. Good luck!!

I've been twice with all 3 of my children. On the first trip they were 4, 3, and 1. I brought a double side by side and rental a comfy single from A Baby's Best Friend (abbf.com). This worked out OK but it was a pain dealing with 3 small kids and 2 strollers on the busses/trams if we drove. On the next trip at 5, nearly 4, 21 months we brought a Peg Perego Pliko and rented doubles in the parks. This worked out perfect-the Pliko has a running board on the back that an older child can ride on-great for the resort. The 21 month old liked the park rental but she couldn't have napped in it and she needed to nap in the stroller as she wouldn't nap in the room.

I was just there May 8 - 14. I rented the double stroller each day and loved it. I saw the other people dealing with getting their strollers on crowded buses (and carrying them up to their second floor rooms at CBR) and I kept thinking I was so glad I decided not to bring my own. I read someone else say their child wouldn't be able to fall asleep in the rental stroller. My 2.5 year old daughter napped in our double almost every day, and I have the pictures to prove it!

We used the rental and loved the freedom of not lugging our big stroller on and off the buses and monorails. DD4 didn't even use a one in AK, she walked the whole day, no complaining and no nap! What a trooper she was. We did rent one in MGM and Magic Kingdom. We rented a double just to have the extra room for our souvinere purchases.

For the OP- Unless there is a medical problem I don't see why you would need a stroller. 7 year olds should be able to walk and enjoy the parks all day. I would go the 1st day without one and see how it goes. I can't imagine my 7 year old even asking to get one- she would be embarrassed to be seen in one! If they are thattires they need to go to bed-IMHO
The parks are so much nicer to visit without having a stroller with you!
Have a great trip!

I disagree with the last post. My 7 year old hasn't been in a stroller since she was 5. However it isn't that she has a medical condition or can't walk, it is the fact that we don't have to make her walk if she doesn't have to. She is a cheerleader, soccer player and basketball player and in great shape. It is so much walking for us never mind her steps are 3 to our 1. Plus during the parade times it is so crazy it makes us feel better that she is sitting in the carriage. As far as her worring about what people thought, I taught her never to care about that. She actually thought it was cool to be pushed around all week. So I would suggest that you consider what is best for your family. Everyone has there own opinion, but mine is that it was the best thing we did for my 7 year old.
