Stolen Mail & Magic Bands

So recently, there has been packages going missing from the mailbox of some of my neighbors and myself. I'm kinda nervous about my magic bands getting stolen now. If jump ropes and cell phone cases are getting taken just imagine a box form Disney! So I called Doaneyannd asked if I could request having to sign for the package, but they can't do that. They said all they can do is ship them to our resort instead. Has anyone done this? Is there any reason for me NOT to have them shipped to our resort? I can't think of reason not to. But I just thought I'd double check...maybe there's something I'm missing? Thanks guys!

I can't think of a reason not to as long as you are planning to go directly to your resort so that you have your tickets and everything else that is linked on the MB. Not sure how ME works (if it involves the band) but I am sure they have a work around for those that don't have the band yet.

I'm in Canada and they don't ship the bands up here, so I have no choice but to pick up at resort. We did this last August and there was no problem. They were customized, as requested and ready for us at check-in.

In fact it is a good idea to pickup in resort. Am sure there will be absent minded people that left their just received MB at home n headed for their long awaited holiday!! I am picking up min at resort as well coz I am from overseas!!

Well the box does not say disney on it!!!! In fact when I came home and found the box on my porch I had no idea what the box was, thinking I did not order anything on line, to be frank I thought it was some sort of junk mail!!!
Imagine my surprise when I opened the box and magic bands!!!!

I would put a hold on mail until you get your travel documents and just pick it up at Post office or you can forward mail to a trusted friends or family member or just get a PO box.

The only thing I can think of is that you can use the MBs to get on the Magic Express. I'm sure they must have that info there in case someone doesn't have the bands with them though, so you can probably still ship them to the resort without issue.

Thanks everyone! I just spoke with Disney and we will pick them up at CSR! I'm glad I did because somehow the magic bands became "unlinked" from our reservation. It was a lengthy phone call! This is the second hiccup with MDE. Our tickets weren't linking to our res either. Hopefully this is the last! Thanks again!

We are from Canada and our MB's were waiting for us at the resort. We did get our travel documents in the mail, though, and our vouchers for DME were in there.

I suspect the MB might make check in for DME quicker, but since overseas guests can't get them shipped, there is definitely a system in place. We won't see our MBs until we arrive at the resort

Just have your DME voucher in hand...it's exactly the same thing as your MB. Won't take any longer. Sure, the CM will have to scan it vs you touching the MB to the Mickey pole, but that's about a 5 second difference.

You still get the ME booklet in the mail with the vouchers. I am sure they work as they always have. In fact, the instructions state that you should bring them with you, so put that in your carry on and you're set.

While not as extreme as someone stealing mine, USPS delivered ours to the wrong house, but of course, once the online tracker said "delivered" we assumed something was wrong, so we called Disney. They just deactivated the bands and put in an order to send new ones to the hotel, so the fully-customized ones would be there at check-in.

Of course, the next day, our neighbor hands us the package with the MBs and off to the phone we go. Wasn't too bad, they just re-activated them (as easy as unchecking a box) and canceled the other order.

I would keep an eye on the package tracker online and if it says "Delivered" and the bands aren't in your mailbox, just call WDW, and do what I mentioned in the first paragraph of this post. Should they surface at a later point, just do what I mentioned in the second paragraph.

I know, right! Crazy! So my neighbor's jump rope, eyeglasses, an order from Victorias Secret, and our cell phone cases have all been taken. So now we're all keeping an eye on each others mail!

I would pick them up at the resort. Though the box doesn't say Disney, its just a plain brown box and doesn't say who the sender is either (Disney isn't plastered all over the box).
