Stolen funds!!

So then how do you transfer an e card? Many are posting to immediately transfer funds to a
zero card. I have only bought physical cards before and never had problem but lately i have
some orders in for ecards. Starting to worry now how prevalent "draining" is and want to safeguard.

I am so sorry that happened to you! That's beyond terrible. :sad1: I'm so grateful to you for posting your bad experience, because it was a wake-up call for me. I just went on the site and deleted the cards I had on there. I will be far more cautious when using the site in the future, being sure to delete the cards right after each transfer. Please keep us posted on whether there is any resolution with Disney. Wishing you the best!
I wonder how many others this has happened to...

Thank you! I completely agree with all of this. Storing your cards is not only safe provided you use an appropriate password and two-factor authentication regime, it also helps protect the physical security of your gift cards in the event that one is lost or stolen, because now you have a record of all transactions in and out.

Everyone is jumping right to "OP was hacked," but isn't it equally or more likely that someone simply got access to the physical card and snapped a photo of the number on the back or spoofed the magnetic stripe?
yes, with the 2 factor login, it should be a place to view your cards and previous transactions!

UPDATE:
Disney recovered my stolen gift card balance! All but $2, lol. When I asked about the slight difference they said it was “a small transaction they couldn’t recover”…I’m not complaining though, I’m so happy they got me $782 back!! It took 6 weeks. I don’t think they gave it back because of kindness either, I think they really dug deep and found who stole it.
The takeaway from all this is don’t leave your cards on that website!!! Spread the word!
I am soooo happy you got this resolved. I would love to know WHO you spoke to and/or What Department, as I had a similar thing happen. No recovery yet and I am worried they won't refund me. Please advise. :)

I've been using OnePassword for several months now and I LOVE IT! It was very time consuming to enter all of my accounts into it but it is well worth the time. I found accounts and passwords I had for several sites that didn't even exist any more or ones that I only used once so I contacted them and asked them to delete my account. One less account and password out there is one less chance of being hacked. Since this happened I've been getting a ton of spam in my email, but that's easily identified and stopped.
would love to hear what other password managers people use...

It took about a month for them to resolve my situation.
How did your situation get resolved? I had the same thing happen and would love to know WHO & WHAT you emailed - and it if it was Disney Card Services that corrected it... TIA!

I would love to hear WHAT Department you spoke with, WHO you spoke with, and WHAT steps you took (including what you said) to get this resolved. I had over $1500+ in fraudulent charges on my disney gift cards.

Ok maybe I'm a little slow but on the gift card website if you delete a card that has funds on it but funds are still on the card but not visible on the website? And if I want to check the balance on my card (that I deleted) I can just enter the number again? Just want to make sure the funds are still on my card even if I delete it from the website.

When you "delete" a card from the website, you're not really deleting anything. You're just removing it from view on the website. The site only let's you display 6 cards at a time. You can move cards in or out of your account as much as you want. Removing a card from the site does not mean the card ceases to exist, nor does it mean funds are removed from the card. It just can't be viewed on the site. That card number can always be re-entered.
