We left a camera bag at JFK on 12/22/13 at gate 36 as we were boarding a JFK to Boston flight on American. We contacted JFK as soon as we arrived in Boston and again in Denver and again in Montana but it was not handed in. AA has been good with trying to track it down too, but to no avail. I called lost and found again yesterday but it still hasn't been handed in so we assume it's been stolen.

If you hear of anyone bragging about finding a camera or trying to sell one around the same time please let me know through a private message. A police report has been filed.

The items are:

Tamroc backpack camera bag in black/grey

Canon 500D DSLR (about a 2009 ? Model) with two lenses, an Australian charger with a US power adapter attached and a 16GB memory card

Go pro Hero+ white camera and an Australian charger with two 32GB micro sd cards

It also contained my daughter's little fabric doll from New Zealand which holds great sentimental value as it was the last ever doll given to her from her grandfather.

The photos would be from a DCL cruise, KSC, Universal Orlando and NYC including the 9/11 memorial and Circle Line Cruise etc. There would be video footage on the go pro from a dive in Costa Maya and USO rides.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated but I doubt we will ever get anything back.

Thanks. I never realised how much I used it until it went. A p&s is just not the same :(

Do you have an old photo taken with that camera? There is information embedded into each photo that may help. It has to be straight from the camera. Meaning, not edited or manipulated in anyway. (Editing my strip some of the info.) Upload that photo into http://www.stolencamerafinder.com/. Basically, this site looks for the serial number of your camera in the photo you uploaded. Then does a search to find photos that were taken from your camera by matching up serial numbers. If you don't have a photo, or don't want to upload one, you can just type in the serial number of the stolen camera. Things may not popup for a while, if the thief wants to lay low for a bit, or the photos haven't been uploaded to the internet.

Sorry your bag was stolen. I hope your gear was insured. Unfortunately it's nearly impossible to retrieve camera gear like this. Even if you locate who has it via the EXIF data with the serial numbers the authorities are unlikely to do anything. I went through something similar after we were robbed a few years ago.

Thanks for that, I wasn't aware of that at all! Those photos would be on my lap top at home so I will have to wait for another three weeks to do that.

Yep, it's insured but it's the missing photos and go pro footage that hurts. The worst thing is the US adaptor was with the charger so whoever had it can just plug it in and be set.

Just an update.

No matches have come up on my camera on the stolen camera finder website yet :worried: I'll keep checking though.
