Stockings for adult children

Do you do stockings for your adult children? If not, when did you stop?

I stopped a long time ago. I filled stocking until they were all in their 20's but stopped when DD and DS got married. Now all three are married and they exchange stocking with their spouses and I think that for them it is the special thing that they do for each other.

I'm 34. My DH and I give each other stockings.

However, we also get stockings from my mom. She does one for me, DH, and both our kids. She also does one for my brother, his fiancee, my dad, and each dog!! They are crazy.

My in-laws also do a stocking for DH but it usually only has a check in it. Not that I mind.

Nope, I haven't stopped. Everyone who is here on Christmas gets a stocking (including one for DD's boyfriend who has begun spending Christmas at our house.)

I think if dd wasn't here for Christmas, I'd still mail her some stocking gifts. Buying for the stockings is one of my favorite Christmas duties.

My mom still does one for me, she fills it with cosmetics, nice pens (we all have a thing about pens in my family), cute keychains and stuff like that. She loves doing it and I'm sure not going to stop her!!

That's how my mom does it! Heck, even the cats have stockings...

Both DFi and I are in our early 20s.. my mom always has stockings for us.

When I moved away from home for some years (we are back in our home state now) and on the years we didn't travel for the holidays, my mom would ship my stocking to me filled with fun stuff

My parents do stockings for everyone who will be opening presents at their house (including us adult children) on Christmas Eve. However, those stockings are filled by Grandma, not Santa. (Santa fills at our house on Christmas morning.) The adults' stockings aren't usually as full as the grandkids, but there's something in there.

My in-laws do stockings for the grandkids but not the adults. Their family tradition is to do stockings on St. Nicholas Day, not Christmas. (My family always put out our shoes on St. Nicholas Day and did stockings on Christmas morning.)

Some years I have combined the couples into one stocking just simply because I ran out of ideas of what to put in the darn things.

What does everyone put in the grown kids' stockings?

I usually do deodorant, key chains, candy, the guys get a deck of cards and have gotten a few fireworks (not illegal here), the girls some body spray and then I run out of ideas!

Chocolate. We are chocoholics.

Basically I put in 1 or 2 small gifts and candy. My dd's are 20 & 15 and love gift cards so it is easy.

Barnes and Noble, BAM!, & ITUNES are their favs.

I was thinking of doing a nice watch for both of them this yr or some jewelry.
