We are hosting Christmas this year & I'm so excited!! There will be 7 of us-all grown ups & 1 infant.

I would like some ideas for stocking stuffers for grown ups. I am actually Jewish, so this is my first time hosting a Christmas. It's my DF's family coming. I do plan to throw in some small dreydels since Hanukkah coincides with Christmas & I thought it would be fun.

So...ideas please! Nothing raunchy or tasteless. Some common item ideas & maybe fun puzzle games or something to keep them busy.

Thanks!:goodvibes

Thank you!! This is a great list!!!:goodvibes

Okay, here goes:

Candy (I prefer full-sized to the minatures since they take up less room)
nuts
an orange (a classic stocking stuffer for the bottom of the stocking in many families)
card games
dice games
office supplies (pencils, pens, sticky notes, etc..)
gloves
a knit hat
lip balm
small hand lotion
tools (for men)
key ring
socks (esp. the fuzzy slipper socks for women)
car stuff (deoderizer, tire pressure check, etc..)
a book (Sudoku, crosswords, favorite author)
a flashlight
batteries
lottery tickets
gift cards

My advice: Try to find items that are low-cost for each item to keep the total cost down. Bulkier items will take up more room and require less "stuff"... A good rule of thumb is to get a paper lunch bag for each person and put the stuff in the lunch bag as you buy it. When the bag is full, you're done buying.

Good Luck!

I go with :
lotto cards - I like the scratch offs.
5$ gift cards to fast food places.
Candy.
Key Chains.
Lip Balm.
Batteries.
Fruit and nuts.

NO PERFUME. Too many people don't like too many different kinds.

Anything that keeps you warm (nice gloves)

Little airplane bottle of booze ( or larger sizes):)

The only thing Aimeedyan didn't cover that I was going to suggest (and she had a bunch I hadn't thought of...) is a pretty/unusual/special ornament.

Other than that, may I just repeat CHOCOLATE?!

Have fun with your first Christmas get together in your home!

What we always seem to get for the adults:

candy
gum
socks
nail polish
lip gloss/balm
tea bags or one pot coffee packs
small kitchen gadgets (oven mitt, wooden spoon, wine bottle stopper, etc)
mini maglite
batteries
small pocketknife or mini tool for the guys
fun pens or pencils
travel size lotion, toothpaste, etc
mini sized cologne
2 pack golf balls and tees
scented soaps
etc, etc- I like to head to the Dollar store or the trial size aisle at Target and look for fun stuff.

My mom always sticks a 'book' of stamps in our stockings. It's nice since it's something I hate to buy.

Good idea!!

We are having the family over for Christmas too and I will be stuffing stockings for all the adults so these are great ideas!!

Thanks everyone-these are all fantastic ideas!!:goodvibes I am very excited to start shopping!

We are all grown-ups. I love doing stockings.

Toys...DS especially likes things to play with on his desk at work.
lotions, perfumes, soaps, lip gloss, nail polish
DVDs
gift cards
yoyos
book lights
books
calendars
candy
wallets
stress balls
puzzles
kitchen gadgets
wine bottle toppers
Christmas ornaments

At my house, everyone gets a Christmas Pez dispenser and the Lifesavers sweet book (or whatever it's called) every year.

Other items we like are:

travel size items from Bath and Body Works
mini bottles of liqueur (Baileys, Chambord, etc.)
votive candles
small magnetic picture frames
pocket puzzle books (crosswords, sudoku, etc.)
fuzzy dorm socks
individual packets of gourmet hot chocolate mix
candy

one year, Santa put tire gauges in our stockings:thumbsup2

Tire gauges reminded me...my hubby put a little reversible screwdriver in my stocking one year. The handle opens and the bit stores inside there; it's flat head on one side and phillips on the other. The whole thing is about two inches long when it isn't put together. Pretty cool. You can shove it in your purse and it doesn't tear up the lining or anything. He stuck one in our (now adult, then a teenager) daughter's stocking too.

Santa may find some of those screwdrivers for the stockings this year. Great idea, Michelle67!

Few things I've bought this year:

-favorite sports team coasters
-reuseable shopping bag
-pub coasters (got them at World Market)
-small candles (the travel ones that are in little tins)
-Guinness pint glass (also World Market)
