Stocking Display and Personalization

How do each of you display your stockings? My Dad and I don't have a mantle. I'm still trying to find two holders that could rest on top of a table or bookcase that wouldn't be pulled down by the weight of items inside the stockings. Any suggestions appreciated.

Anyone want to share how you got your stocking? Is your name on it or a favorite character? Pictures welcome, of course.

My Dad and I currently do have stocking with our names on them. I got him his and a friend long ago got me mine. Another kind friend sewed our names on them. Next year, God-willing, it would mean a lot to me for each of us to personally be able to choose a stocking for each other.

Ours are on the mantel on holders, but once filled, we set them on the floor at the base of the fireplace. No regular holder is going to support the weight of them after being stuffed with gifts. That's going to be the same regardless of if you set your holder on a mantle, tabletop, or bookcase. Just let them hang empty for display, and unhook them Xmas night once they are filled.
