My wife used to be an accountant and does the paperwork for our taxes each year. She refuses to do them on-line or to use software to prepare them. She has her own spread sheet that does all the calculations. The accountant in her didn't think it was worth purchasing the software when she gets the same results with her spread sheet.
I fianally talked her into using one of the tax preparer software this past year and you would have thought she had found gold. She liked it so much because next year she just has to run the update, enter our W-2 figures, etc. and its done. She still insist on submitting via paper, though. She doesn't want to spend money to file electronically when we get so little back. But, all of the forms are generated by the software so she doesn't have to run to the post office, etc, trying to locate the proper forms. I know she has printed the forms off the web, but she still had to fill them out manually. She just thinks the time she will save next year will be worth the cost of the upgrade.
