You're not kidding!! I don't necessarily like the ride, but i wouldnt say that I "hate" it or want them to get rid of it. And not really being a Stitch fan, I'm not too excited about the Celebration, but I'm sure there will many that will be!

SGE does seem to be the attraction with the most negative comments in recent memory, right up there with Sounds Dangerous at DHS, but in this case it's taking up a very prominent spot in Tomorrowland that MANY people think could have a better attraction.

Having said that, all of the attractions in that spot have basically used the same show structure with different parts put into place, in other words, it's not a large space. I do see other potential possibilities for it though.

This new show, IMO, could be the first step in getting rid of SGE while keeping Stitch prominently in Tomorrowland. That is if the show is as big as what I'm hearing it may be.

I too rather dislike SGE. But i agree, the space is rather small for a new attraction. Maybe they can pull off a WALL-E show or something. It would fit Tomorrowland's theme.

Yeah SGE wasn't the best in MK, but it sure beats the COP, and Hall of Presidents (although those are great places for tired kids to catch a quick nap). Me and my 2 DDs loved it and my DS is a huge Stitch fan, I hope SGE sticks around so my DS can enjoy it when we take him and my girls back in 2010.
As far as a new Stitch show opening, all I can say is, YAY ME!

Is there any more word on this?

I am going to WDW at the end of April, so I'd be intrigued to know if the construction is still on plan, and if we are likely to see this attraction?

Anyone heard any news?

My daughter hates Stitch Great Escape. The first time we went on it she was 5 and she screamed and cried for an hour afterwards- mad at us for taking her in there. It gave her nightmares for a couple of years. We went again last year when she was 8. She was all excieted to try it again. SAME THING!!!!!! She hated it and was ^$^%& at us for taking her in there!

In at least 20 trips to Magic Kingdom in the last year we have never ridden the Great Escape. I just wanted to let you all know I was there today, and Tommorowland is FULL of construction! The stage btwn Buzz and Carosel is under construction and there is a new structure going up btwn carosel and Space Mountain.

I can't say we hated SGE, but we skipped it this year since the element of surprise was gone. But I would certainly put it on my "better than doing nothing" list. The Indy Raceway is another story -- lines were so long, and it didn't hold a candle to real car rides (like we're used to) and that attraction takes up a huge amount of space. Still, better than doing nothing. I think with the way things are going, neither of these would be replaced with something better -- they would just be shut down.

What doesn't make it onto my list? The Narnia ride at DHS.

And I'm still trying to figure out how the Indy Raceway fits into Tomorrowland at all.

Does anyone know if this is anything like the Stitch show in Disneyland Paris? It uses the Turtle Talk technology. I hope not - I didn't enjoy it at all, and barely understood a word Stitch was saying (and it was an English show! - they alternate between English and French shows there.)

Stitch’s SuperSonic Celebration is a musical stage show that celebrates Galaxy Day in the Tomorrowland area of Magic Kingdom Theme Park. Get ready to party with a high-energy dance troupe and a very special live video appearance from Stitch. Stitch’s SuperSonic Celebration is scheduled to debut late spring 2009.

A live broadcast of the Tomorrowland News Network, with your host Tip Trendo, is interrupted by a video transmission from Stitch, who has “borrowed” a space cruiser assigned to cover Galaxy Day—a special celebration where everyone around the galaxy celebrates everything worth celebrating.

Stitch is always up for a good party! Join Stitch, Tip, the singing Galactic Girls and some surprise guests for an out-of-this-world party filled with music and dancing. Learn some space-age dance moves and groove to old favorites and original songs with the intergalactic crew on stage.

I was just in Hong Kong and saw the Stitch attraction there. Is that one the same as Disneyland Paris? If it is, I liked it a lot better than Turtle Talk.
