We enjoyed it. Took DD8 and DD12 for first time. Both were scared prior to ride. Both are scared of dark and 3D effects. Neither had been on Alien Encounter. DH and I had previously been on AE. I found Stitch to be funny. My daughters even laughed a few times while peering out from between their fingers covering their faces. I prepped them with a fellow DISers tip of placing your fists on your shoulders to stop the harness from pushing down on you too tight. Sitting up real straight and tall works as well. This is a wise tip. You don't feel so out of control with a little wiggle room.

I think it's different for every child. Adult preview is wise for very anxious kids. I have one and that's why mine never saw Alien Encounter. It is a nice attraction IMO. I am please they replace AE with Stitch. My DH on the other hand is not. He really misses it. Can't please everyone.

It's nice to hear a positive review. There has been so many negative comments in regards to this ride. I think so many people have been disappointed in it.

My family also loved Stitch's Great Escape.
My 11 yo DS2 was terrified of the final parts of It's Tough To Be A Bug and begged me to leave. We thought he'd be scared of Stitch, but next to Buzz it's his second favorite thing he did at WDW.
DS (age 15) said it was really cool. DH said it was awesome.
I didn't ride it though. I'm a big chicken.

Count us in the "we loved Stitch" camp. Our 4 yo DD thought it was a hoot and we went twice on Friday.

I am so glad to see some people liked it! My son loves Stitch and is looking forward to it. I hope the rumors are false and it will not be closed when we get there. He will be heartbroken.

I won't say we loved it, but it good... I do not see why so many people a blasting it.

I agree that it is an obvious remake of AE, but I believe that one of the main reasons for the re-do was to tame it down for the little tykes.

It is good to finally hear from someone that likes this attraction! Thanks for the review!

I think all of the negative reviews are coming from people (like me) who previously had been on The Alien encounter. I think we all were expecting Stitch to be very different (and better) than Alien, and it's pretty much the same attraction. We didn't hate it, but aren't raving about it. Glad you enjoyed it!!

I thought it was cute too! I think the reason people don't like it is because they loved AE and didn't want it to go. I wonder if AE had never existed if people would hate Stitch as much as they say they do. I liked AE but I liked Stitch too (could do without the smell part though). I thought it was funny. Sandra

Glad to hear there are a few others who enjoy it. We still haven't gotten our dd's on Tower of Terror. They have both done Mission Space now tho. DD12 probably won't do it again tho. She got sick that night 3X. I don't think it was related to MS, but she'll never believe that. A few more days before we leave. With the weather warming up, hopefully we'll get to TOT. I actually think I'm more scared than they are!

Our family of four had never been on AE and not one of us liked SGE. My kids are 9 and 7 and they just thought it was the dumbest thing they had ever been on (and my kids love everything Disney).

The ride doesn't have any magic so maybe after everyone has tried it - those of you who like it will have small wait lines and can just walk on! I know my family won't do it again and we do enjoy almost all of the rides at all the parks (and Universal too!) :cool1:

There must be more than the usual negative feedback for this attraction. According to several reliable sources, Stitch's Great Escape will be shutdown sometime in February, and 'retooled'. Hopefully they will sink enough money into the attraction this time, but I doubt they will have much time, since I'm sure the goal is to have it back up before the May 5th celebration begins. The least they can do is give it a storyline! ;)

My boyfriend and I HATED Stitch's Great Escape. I will never do it again unless I hear better after the rehab. Luckily, we went on it during MVMCP so the wait was 5 minutes. I would not waste 10 minutes in line for it!

We rode it last week when it was a "walk on". We didn't care for AE that much, and felt the same about Stitch. It was "OK" and I'm glad we rode it once, but I don't have any desire to go on it again or spend any time in line for it. Our 10 year old son, who thinks that burping and farting is the highest form of humor, even gave it a "so-so" rating. I agree with the reviews I've read that says that the attraction just doesn't "flow" very well.

If you love it, more power to you... it just wasn't great for us.

This makes two attractions that I have really liked and Disney got rid of.
First was 20,000 leagues and now AE. I really enjoyed AE and the "horror" it had. I still remember I felt that poor workman's blood. I was like wow, so nice not to have something not so happy happy joy joy.

When Stiches great escape was over my gf and I looked at eatch other and said, Thats it? She was wishing she got to experience AE. Plus what they did to that robot in the preshow. I believe it was called S.I.R. in AE I thought that was the coolest robot I had ever seen and was so cool to watch. Now it and the whole attraction just too silly(and not in a good way).

We had FP's the other night for stitch, but it wound up being shut down just before our time. I don't think it ever re-opened that night.

I was dissappointed. My 6 year old dd laughed a little, but said said she doesn't really want to do it again. She said it was boring. She loves it's tough to be a bug and always wants to do it again.
