Hi all

I'm wondering whether anyone can advise?

Stitches Great Escape..........
We visited WDW March 2006 but didn't go into this attraction - I think mainly because I don't know what it's like and we were a little nervous to take DD 5 on. :rolleyes1

Is it a ride or screen attraction and do you think she would be scared - she loves Pirates of the Carribean and she's fine with Snow White.

Can anyone shed some light.... thank you :yay:

Don't worry, Stitches Great Escape is possibly the worst ever attraction (but correct me if I'm wrong !) Disney ever came up with.

We took our DD, also 5, on this and as we sat down a full shoulder harnesses came down over our heads and locked into place....and I was thinking " :scared1: OMG - Just what am I about to put my daughter through:scared1: .......I was looking frantically round for a CM to get us off the ride..............

But too late it started and .......................

NOTHING !

It was just a lot of twaddle about an invisible Stitch running around in the dark, which I just did not get - the seats hardly moved (if they did at all) so what you needed full shoulder harness for I just do not know  ...possibly to keep you upright if you fell asleep..or to stop you leaving early due to lack of interest !!

I felt sorry for anyone that queued over 10 mins for this - what a waste of time !!!!

This was my my DD (then age 8)' s favourite attraction at WDW, but I agree with jdybnsn that it's not WDW's best ;)

Did you ever see the old Alien ride which was there prior to Stitch opening? Basically it's the same but Stitch has been put in place of the old alien (Skippy) and made more child friendly.

My children really love Stitch so do rate this attraction but if your child is not good in dark places I would give it a miss.

Thanks guys

yes I did go on the Alien ride in oh god 2000 - I didn't really like that much my self.
Thanks for letting me know, we will definately ride then if we have spare time - which I know we probably won't
Thanks again
Sarah X

i'm afraid as soon as it went dark my DD started sobbing and hated the whole thing and she wasnt the only one:scared1: it isnt one i'll be doing again Gill.

Really can't see the point of this ride at all IMHO.

Money could be better spent on another attraction. Can't see that your daughter would be scared if she is OK with Snow White.

Watch out for the chilli dog burp :rotfl:

I suspect at the time Disiney were looking to do something with Alien Encounter, which wasn't a very 'Disney' attraction in the first place, and to strongarm Stitch into an attraction due to his enormous popularity. The two things sort of matched up so in it went at minimal cost - a victory for the accountants ;)

Hi

The ride was poor and to be honest not worth a wait. I knew it took over Alien, but really they should of made it slightly different. Added new bits and bobs. Other than it being dark and at times a little loud I am sure she will be fine. My dd loved it.

We hated it. And we were actually surprised that, at no point in the queue or before going on the ride, we did not see one sign warning about the pitch back that would occur. There were loads of little children on there when we went, and as soon as the lights went out, they all started screaming, and I can't blame them. It's not like they could even move around and hug their parents/guardians because of the stupid (and somewhat pointless) overhead restraints! Put it like this, we certianly WILL NOT be going on that ride again!

Well we like it and think it is quite a funny little show, besides which you get to sit down for a while! I would give it a blast and see for yourself, nothing really to lose. Unless your child is scared of the dark, give it a try. There were a few kiddies crying when I have been on it but the CM came over to them with a torch and then they were fine.

because everyone slated it and i love stitch - i thought it as okay.

he signs opp. the attraction - he did back in feb 2006.

just sit at the back - then you won't get sprayed with chilli sauce.

I'd go on 1st to try it out.

We haven't been in but on our 1st visit we went on the previous ride there Alien encounter & it terrified our DD who was 8 I think. /////she sobbed the whole way through.

Stitch is much tamer I've heard but I'd still try it out 1st.
