Anyone take their young ones on the stitch ride? What is the heiht requirement and how did your little ones react? My son will be 2 1/2 and I am wondering if I should take him on it?

The Unofficial Guide says the height requirement is 40 inches and this ride frightens children of all ages. It has a very restrictive restraining system for head and body and I think is too intense for a 2 1/2 year old....instead go on Buzz Lightyear twice, or three or four or five times!!! Have a great trip.

Both my 4 and 6 year olds got scared on this. There is a period of total darkness at one point and some nasty smells and sounds and that is what scared my kids. In my opinion, its a waste of time! Avoid it totally, you won't miss a thing.

I would say skip it. My DS was terrified and he was much older than 2. 2 is probably too young. It was scary for many children when we went on it, I had no idea what it was. Buzz Lightyear is much better!

My then 6 year old didn't like it one bit. And I remember this one little boy no more then 3 or 4 on it, he screamed the entire time. He was hysterical by the time it ended. There is no way once it starts that you can take your child and comfort him. Everyone is strapped in by the shoulder harness. I would also say to skip it. I agree, ride buzz several times! He'll have a blast!

I think its probably too scary. The restraints are scary by themselves, plus it gets very dark and there are some loud noises.

I didn't think it was awefully scary. It is however, scary how awful it is!

Scary awful is a good term for that ride. Unfortunately my soon to be 6 yr old loved it and if you mention MK, that's the ride he wants to go on.

He's one of the biggest wusses you ever met and it didn't scare him!

Me ans DS2 (age 6) loved it!!!!

My wife and DS1 (age 10) hated it...

Mainly because Stitch spit on them!!! :stitch2:

I don't think it's scary...mainly because I think Stitch isn't scary.

It isn't a fun, exciting or interesting ride, my kids thought it was dumb (6,8,10). I agree, do Buzz more times instead!

I wouldn't take him on it. My son was 3 when he first went on it. He's usually pretty good about new adventures (loves Test Track, Star Tours, Soarin', Mission Space etc.) he was hysterical on this ride. If I knew how to exit the ride I would have. I didn't like it either. It is alot in the dark and that smell is so awful I almost puked all over.

I'm glad I read this post, I don't think we'll consider it for our trip next year now either. The restraints sound horrible for small children:scared:

This ride has to be the worst one I've ever been on. The restraints and darkness didn't bother my kids (4 and 7 at the time). In fact, the shoulder restraint didn't even touch the top of DD's shoulders. So she missed "feeling" Stitch jump on her. No loss.

No, what we hated was the horrible, gagging smell that they pumped in to create Stitch's "chili-dog-burp breath." It was so bad I refused to go back when friends of ours joined us on our last day and wanted to ride. Even the gift shop you exit into smells bad from that odor.

Run, run away! (And go on the Buzz ride - it was exceptional!)

I would not go on it again.. it is not really a ride. I had taken dd 3.5 at the time on it and was scared out of my mind when we went to sit in the seats since the overhead restraint did not come all the way down.. but of course nothing moves in this "ride". ALl that happens is things get dark, stinky fart sounds and spitting etc...

Another vote for "SKIP IT"...this ride is truly revolting...being spit on, having hot smelly chili dog burped in your face...those horrible, USELESS, heavy shoulder harnesses...gross, uncomfortable YUCK.

I seriously started gagging...my very brand new husband looked over at me and started saying "Oh no babe, don't barf on the ride...oh geez, hun are you okay?":rotfl: It started my gag reflex going and I couldn't stop it.

yuck yuck yuck

darling Stitch deserves a better ride!

Please be very cautious about taking your little ones on this ride! When DH and I went on it last summer we could barely hear the audio over all of the hysterical screaming kids. The ride is very dark (darker than HM dark) and you are strapped in with no place to go. It was possibly the worst ride experience I've ever had and I was one of those kids who got really freaked out the first time I rode HM!!!

BTW I think "it's a small World" is probably the scariest ride in the whole park!!! :scared:

My DD was 4 when she went on Stitch and she had a complete melt down. It was awful she crawled out from under the restraint and I had to crawl out and get her.....and bring her outside. Stitch used to be her favorite character, since then not so much.

Wow I'm so glad I read this post. We went to MK 2 years ago and could not get near the Stitch "ride" as the wait was always sooooo long, and we were a bit upset to have missed it. We are leaving in 3 weeks and were planning on having that a priority this time. Saves us a bunch of time, however if it's so horrible why is there such a long wait?

I had read about the ride before we went and TRIED to warn the lady in front of us who told her two little boys "oh, it's not scary". It was awful. They both freaked out. Mom was able to get them out of the retrants, as well as herself but tried to gt out the door and of course could not. I really felt bad for the children.

BTW- It is really an bad show. I hated it.
