That's a pretty typical response.
Yeah, but the Lilo & Stitch quote was a little more specific than just a generic canned response.
That's a pretty typical response.
It is strange to me how they always seem to remove one before adding another. If they really bulked up on the character M&G's, they could alleviate some of the crowding issues they are facing by dispersing crowds across all the extra activities..

I love Disney characters as much as the next person, I just wish it was a bit more spontaneous. Merlin encouraging kids to pull the word from the stone, Pan dueling Hook and then running off, a Princess organizing all the little girls in costume in a dress twirling dance, whatever - just something more than sign here, say cheese, next please.
My kids hate miles.
As nice as this would be I can't see it happening. I remember when it was like this and on our trip in 1986 when Jiminy Cricket came over to hug me and I was about plowed over by other kids who wanted their picture first. If it was like that then, I can only imagine how things would be today.
I agree. But they dont like miles, dont like Sophia, dont like jake. Refuse to watch them. They "hate" a cartoon character? Well, don't they sound just like peaches....
While I don't think they could go as spontaneous as Universal with the main characters, if they had more second and third tier characters out on a more constant basis, then it wouldn't be such a big deal that they got mobbed every time you saw one. If at any given time in fantasyland you could look up and see 3 different characters milling about (Gus the mouse from Cinderella, Eugene from Tangled, and Jiminy Cricket) then there wouldn't be this innate need for people to bum rush the characters. This is friggin Disney World we are talking about. It should be absolutely *stuffed* with characters. It shouldn't be a rare timed treat to run into somebody.
When I was at Epcot last year and we saw Jasmine and Aladdin sneak in through a back door it felt like we had just seen a white buffalo in the wild. Then they went around the corner and BAM, line 20 people deep waiting for them.
As it stands there are people who "hunt" down characters. I would think that increasing supply would decrease demand, and eventually characters would be part of the atmosphere rather than another attraction to get in line for.
On the other hand, they probably don't see the money in it.
My DD is going to be so sad. Stitch is her "boy friend". She doesn't care about meeting any of the fab five, just Stitch. She's going to be heart broken.
Yes stitch is gone from tomorrowland. Rumor is Miles from tomorrowland will soon take his place.
My son would be over the moon if he could meet Miles AND Merc. Oh my gosh, it would be THE highlight of his trip. I SOOOOOO wish this would happen. My kids would love a Miles meet and greet, especially if Merc is there!
They did not care for Stitch and were not huge Monster's Inc. fans either. In fact, though I liked the message of Lilo and Stitch, I have only seen it twice and really never fell in love the characters. I personally would prefer Miles too.
From what I have read, the response to Miles has been a bit of a phenomenon. It has managed to expand the demographics of the typical Disney Jr. show since it now has a substantial following of 10 and 11 year olds.
I'm probably in the minority when it comes to WDW fans (I consider myself one), but I couldn't care less about Stitch. Does he have fans? Really?? I assume this is why he's going away: he doesn't have many fans. I enjoy seeing any of the Fab 5 around the Park, and a few of the princesses, maybe a few others...
I'll double down: I don't get the "autograph" thing. I used to love seeing the characters walk around the park like they were home. Of course, you can't see that anymore because of all the stinkin' autograph hounds - clamoring for an autograph from an anonymous college kid in a costume. I. Don't. Get. It.
