Stitch leaving the Magic Kingdom - Confirmed

Miles is *FROM* Tomorrowland, so whether he is replacing Stitch or not, he deserves to be there. Any kid who watches that show and goes to Disney World is going to ask where Miles is in regards to Tomorrowland. If Sofia was from Fantasyland, the little girls would be asking where that chick was when they hit up Fantasyland.

Why Baymax isn't already in Tomorrowland is beyond me.

I think it is really silly for the folks in here that complain about Miles because *their* kids have never heard of him (or maybe their kids HAVE heard of him, but they don't actually know every single thing their kids are aware of).

Either way, in regards to the original topic, Stitch is a playful character that adds a lot of fun to his area. Regardless of the quality of the ride with his name on it or anyone's personal opinion about the character, more meet & greets are always good.

It is strange to me how they always seem to remove one before adding another. If they really bulked up on the character M&G's, they could alleviate some of the crowding issues they are facing by dispersing crowds across all the extra activities.

The one thing Universal does WAY better, as far as the way I like to enjoy themeparks, is have their characters out and about. There is something special about stumbling across a character unexpectedly versus getting in line ahead of time and having a timed, nearly scripted, interaction with a character. One of my favorite memories the last time I went to USF was going over to grab my little on a spiderman shirt at the front end gift shop and having Spiderman pop out from behind the rack. He was witty, funny, acted the part, and seemed to enjoy just messing around in the gift shop. Later that day I came across Dr. Doom and Green Goblin who double teamed me and began dragging me off to his "Fear Fall" while my wife snapped a shot. I didn't ask for this, they just did it. Or Krusty and Slideshow Bob popping up while I was shopping in the Springfield area. Krusty had to "run" Slideshow Bob off because he was trying to "steal" my wallet.

I love Disney characters as much as the next person, I just wish it was a bit more spontaneous. Merlin encouraging kids to pull the word from the stone, Pan dueling Hook and then running off, a Princess organizing all the little girls in costume in a dress twirling dance, whatever - just something more than sign here, say cheese, next please.

I'm glad I saw this. My kids love stitch and we booked a reservation for ohana for breakfast but was thinking about canceling it for another dinner at Epcot. I'll probably keep the reservation so they can see stitch.

Rafiki joined the MK line up the same day Stitch was removed, so there was an immediate swap there.

Awwww....we will miss Stitch. Some of my favourite moments through the years have been watching my younger DGS interacting with Stitch. He's loved the little blue guy since their first meeting years ago.

I've got no problem with Miles being there if he's popular with young kids, even though I've never heard of him. And I actually watch Disney Channel a good bit. But I have a hard time believing he will be more popular than Baymax and Stitch. 2 of the very few "boy" characters for kids to meet. And Baymax was extremely popular the short time he was available to meet. What is to stop Disney from offering way more meet and greets than they currently do? I understand they for the most part can't be roaming around the parks (although apparently it still works at DL for some reason?) But what's wrong with having more out in the open planned M&G like Stitch was in tomorrowland? I find it hard to believe a costume character and handler makes much more than a regular CM. So so a couple dozen extra characters per park really wouldn't be that huge of a cost.

In 1998 we were there on our honeymoon and we must of road the Alien encounter 6 times while we were there. It was one of the best rides at WDW. IMO And when we went back in 2004, excited to ride it with the entire family, it was closed for remodeling. The next trip it was the stitch ride and although it was only a revamp and dulled down, it was a disappointment. We still ride it once or twice a trip, since wait times are always short, but half the time you get on the ride some idiot pulls out a cell phone and turns on their light which makes it even more of a disappointment.

As nice as this would be I can't see it happening. I remember when it was like this and on our trip in 1986 when Jiminy Cricket came over to hug me and I was about plowed over by other kids who wanted their picture first. If it was like that then, I can only imagine how things would be today.

We have yet to meet Stitch - finally trying O'Hana Saturday so that will finally happen! but he just seems like fun. We were in line last year at Hollywood Studios but he was switched out for Pluto right before our turn.

Miles would also be a good fit. My DS keeps asking if we will see him next week. He loves the show!

My kids hate miles.

They "hate" a cartoon character? Well, don't they sound just like peaches....

While I don't think they could go as spontaneous as Universal with the main characters, if they had more second and third tier characters out on a more constant basis, then it wouldn't be such a big deal that they got mobbed every time you saw one. If at any given time in fantasyland you could look up and see 3 different characters milling about (Gus the mouse from Cinderella, Eugene from Tangled, and Jiminy Cricket) then there wouldn't be this innate need for people to bum rush the characters. This is friggin Disney World we are talking about. It should be absolutely *stuffed* with characters. It shouldn't be a rare timed treat to run into somebody.

When I was at Epcot last year and we saw Jasmine and Aladdin sneak in through a back door it felt like we had just seen a white buffalo in the wild. Then they went around the corner and BAM, line 20 people deep waiting for them.

As it stands there are people who "hunt" down characters. I would think that increasing supply would decrease demand, and eventually characters would be part of the atmosphere rather than another attraction to get in line for.

On the other hand, they probably don't see the money in it.

I agree. But they dont like miles, dont like Sophia, dont like jake. Refuse to watch them.

My DD is going to be so sad. Stitch is her "boy friend". She doesn't care about meeting any of the fab five, just Stitch. She's going to be heart broken.

Can you book a meal at 'Ohana? If he's that big a deal for her, it may be worth it. We just added 'Ohana breakfast (which we did not intend to do) because my teenager said the two characters he wanted were Pooh and Stitch.

My kids would love a Miles meet and greet, especially if Merc is there!

They did not care for Stitch and were not huge Monster's Inc. fans either. In fact, though I liked the message of Lilo and Stitch, I have only seen it twice and really never fell in love the characters. I personally would prefer Miles too.

From what I have read, the response to Miles has been a bit of a phenomenon. It has managed to expand the demographics of the typical Disney Jr. show since it now has a substantial following of 10 and 11 year olds.
My son would be over the moon if he could meet Miles AND Merc. Oh my gosh, it would be THE highlight of his trip. I SOOOOOO wish this would happen.

I'm probably in the minority when it comes to WDW fans (I consider myself one), but I couldn't care less about Stitch. Does he have fans? Really?? I assume this is why he's going away: he doesn't have many fans. I enjoy seeing any of the Fab 5 around the Park, and a few of the princesses, maybe a few others...

I'll double down: I don't get the "autograph" thing. I used to love seeing the characters walk around the park like they were home. Of course, you can't see that anymore because of all the stinkin' autograph hounds - clamoring for an autograph from an anonymous college kid in a costume. I. Don't. Get. It.

It's because we get older...... BUT there is and ALWAYS will be kids, like mine, that Stitch is their favorite character and it's still magical to them. We know they may be some college kid dressed up but to those kids.... it's their magical story coming to life! That's why!

Not all my kids love Stitch like my oldest. My 2 year never watched Lilo & Stitch but she will and to see him would be awesome to her. My oldest is a Stitch nut.. lol..... However, I'm a Tinkerbell fan. My DD13 loves Princesses, My DD12 loves the Alice & Wonderland characters. While my hubby is a Pirates of the Caribbean fan... We all have one that favors above them all. Disney is for everyone so taking away a character from a majority of it's locations that some like, is sad to them. We don't knock it because it's not we enjoy... It brings the magic to them so that's awesome!

Well at least we made ohana breakfast reservation for our may trip. We love the fab 5 and many other but my son who is now 19 and I love stitch. Over the years some of our best interactions have been with lilo and stitch or just stitch. Last may my fiance truly saw me as a kid when we came out of cop saw stitch and saw no waiting. We or I should say I had a wonderful time pretending to surf and play air guitar with stitch. With Btm being down this is starting to put a damper on our trip

I feel lucky to have gotten to meet stitch on my last trip. Never met him before but love the movie. It was just by chance that we saw him greeting guests under the Astro orbiter. There was only a line of about 5 people, so we got in line. He was great.
