Stitch atraction restrictions????
Any one know if the new Stitch have any height restrictions??
I have a 3 years old girl......

I've heard (and it is unconfirmed) that the seats and overhead restraints are not being changed, and because of this, the 44" requirement that existed for Alien Encounter will remain for Stitch. But, again, this is just rumor-talk.

Does anyone know when Stitch will be out? We are going in September... I'm wondering if there is a chance that we will be there for the opening ?????

I saw on another post it was scheduled to open early to mid October. Of course, that can change a hundred times between now and then.

Stop by anyway. They sometimes ask people in for a test run just before it officially opens.

I think that they are doing a "soft-opening" in September. Give it a shot!

Erin :D

I was hoping for a Stitch "soft-opening" surprise in late Aug. during our trip. We will ask at the front desk and cruise by periodically.
Before AK opened officially, we spent a day at its soft-opening during a March trip. It was the BEST!. In fact, we haven't had that much fun at AK since.
During our Aug.2001 trip to DL, we stumbled on the soft-opening of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire". It was great - both DS & I made it into the hot seat & won hats & pins.
Soft openings are wonderful & worth extra effort

Are you an Annual Passholder? If so, there is going to be some kind of preview for passholders prior to the Grand Opening. I don't have my AP with me, so I can't access the website and share the dates - maybe someone else will post them later. Here's a link to the latest Mickey Monitor that talks about the new Stitch attraction:

August 2004 Mickey Monitor

Best wishes -

Thanks, CarolMN,
We are AP holders. In fact, we just renewed them for the Aug. trip. I can't believe I missed that blurb in the Mickey Monitor. I'll try the link at home because I don't have my AP with me.

I had actually heard that they would be NO restriction. Guess that shows us how valuable rumors are. ;)

I'm not sure what purpose a restriction would serve. The restraints at AE really didn't serve a useful purpose. Yes, they kept guests in their seats, but if you don't need restraints at MuppetVision or Tough to be a Bug, why here?

You could also argue that the "fear factor" had as much to do with the height limitation on AE as it did the need to fit restraints.

Considering the "family friendly" makeover this attraction is getting, I'll be really shocked if there is any sort of height restriction. But until an announcement is made, that's just my $.02...

I would think maybe you needed to be that tall in order to feel the effects of the show. Remember that harness came down, touched your shoulders, then rose back up. It had to measure your height in order to work correctly during the show.
I wouldn't be surprised if the restriction is still the same, even if it is milder. It looks like the show set up is basically the same from drawings.
Course, that kinda defeats the purpose of doing a Stitch show so, who knows??? The kids that would want to see it wouldn't be tall enough!

And the concept art that Disney released does show the shoulder harnesses. If I were to place a bet on it, it would be on 44".

Exactly what I was going to say. There were a lot of effects that came out of that harness - pressure on the shoulders when the alien was "walking around", alien slime, alien breathing and some sound effects that were very close to you head.

Maybe they've reengineered the ride so that it can accomadate smaller shoulders?

As for the passholder dates the website says to check back later in August for more information.
