Are you sure it’s talking about the check you will be getting, or about the last one that you already received? My daughter just got a letter today stating that she got her check several months ago, and if she hadn’t received it yet, to contact the IRS.

....and if you did not get the check, just give them your account number and then see what happens to your account....have you ever tried calling the IRS, or waiting for an appointment at a IRS field office or even have offical mail from IRS....I believe these are fraudlant mailings as there has never been letters from the IRS telling me that my refund checks are on the way after paying my taxes for decades....why all of a sudden the customer service .. I got one of those letters...have not had contact with IRS for years...but somehow they found my address and want to send me a check of a random amount that has not been passed by congress....take care on those recited letters.

I was going to caution also... definitely sounds Fake Do not give information just because you got a random letter or email...

I need to file asap and hope that updates with them and I get a check, we made too much in 2019 to get anything but should qualify for this round

For the record I still would rather they just tax us less from the start.

I think that you have to initially qualify for the stimulus to receive money for your college students who are claimed as dependents. Sorry . We are in the same boat. My daughter did work for a couple of months last year. She filed last year but she was not eligible for the first two payments because she was claimed on our taxes. We are working the numbers now to see if it makes a difference to not claim her as a dependent. I'm not sure if she'll be eligible if she can be claimed as a dependent. I know that she is not eligible for last year's payments at all no matter what we do.

This has caused a huge rift with our older kids.
And us.

Our checking account had to be closed between the 1st and 2nd stimulus checks so the second payment got bounced back and we got a paper check eventually. There was no way to list our new checking account so I was hoping they would realize they just needed to send out a paper check but nope...I just looked on their website and it says they’re sending the third stimulus to the closed account again

Mine gets here March 17, but I already spent it last weekend when the bill got passed.

I think if they want the economy stimulated, they should just hire me for all future stimulus commercials.

1st check got me to replace my 19 year old car with a new one.
2nd check got me to get my child his needed Invisalign for his misaligned front tooth bite.
3rd check got me to replace my 2 back sliding doors (deck and patio) which needed to be replaced when we moved in 14 years ago (b/c the panes had failed), but which I've lived with and frozen every winter through. Heck, now they will even be energy-efficient. (I admit, cancer and freezing sucks, so while I also need other things, this was just a "dummy, how often will checks keep falling out of the sky - get this done" moment).

3 different industries...things I could have kept pushing off, but really, well, needed. And all items where I spent a little to a lot more money than I received, which I think is the true "stimulus" goal - like a Disney deal, get you to think it's a good idea and keep spending...

Whether these checks were a good idea or not, well, that's for another day and another board.

We got that as well...it was so odd. It definitely said the 2nd stimulus, but we got the letter a month after it was dated...very weird.

I have my taxes done sitting in Turbo Tax waiting to file because we wouldn’t qualify at all if we hit the submit button.
As it is, we qualify in the disappearing zone, but if they’re giving it We might as well get something.

We still don't have the last one. I believe at this point we have to wait and get it on our taxes. So I'm not holding my breath on this one either.

We’re not eligible for this stimulus based on 2019 taxes. We can’t file 2020 taxes until the business taxes are done. We would be eligible based on 2020 income because it dropped. I’ve heard that we have to wait until filing 2021 taxes to claim this stimulus? Anyone know?

We got a snail mail letter from IRS today. It stated that we would be getting a stimulus check in the amount of....and that if it didn’t appear in a week, it told us what to do.

Actually the letter was just addressed to DH, so above should have singular pronoun, not plural. I just asked him, because the amount was not what I had heard a couple would get. Well, I didn’t get a letter.

I got the same letter. I read it multiple times before realizing it was referencing the second round of stimulus checks we received in January.

I would not have gotten any if filing single, but since I filed as head of household, did easily qualify.

I have a question for those non filers on ss or ssd. Have you received your 1400 yet or does it give you a date on the IRS page? Both my daughter I, it indicates no info or not eligible.
