Still waitlisted for main seating - call DCL?

We're sailing on the Treasure in March (VERY EXCITED!). Late seating was all that was available when we booked last March and we're still waitlisted for Main Seating. On past sailings I feel like we've been cleared for Main Seating well in advance and I'm starting to get worried especially as we're sailing with our 6-year old twins. Should I call DCL to inquire or wait until we board? We're Gold status - will that influence any waitlists? I had also requested our own table as we prefer to dine only with our family so trying to balance my requests given the one request per reservation policy. Thank you!

Hello!

Based on past experience, Main Seating tends to be harder to secure, especially during busy times like Spring Break. While having Gold status can help with waitlists, it is not guaranteed.

For now, I recommend keeping your Late Seating assignment, but continue to check in with DCL before you're sailing. Sometimes, last-minute adjustments are made as final dining arrangements are made. If nothing changes before embarkation, head to the help desk when you board to request Main Seating again.

As for your private table request, balancing both requests can be tricky since DCL typically allows only one per reservation. If Main Seating is your priority, I’d focus on that first and then see if a private table is possible once onboard. I had success getting reassigned after a few days at sea, so it is worth checking back if needed.

I hope it all works out, and have a fantastic time on the Treasure!

They usually adjust dinner seating assignments a few days before sailing. If you're sailing in March, it might still be too far out. So, check the app again then to see if you've been switched. If not, then go to Dining Changes once onboard (you'll see where and when in the app once you're at the port). Early seating is often busier, so harder to get a private table. You might have to decide which is more important to you.

Your Castaway Club status doesn't matter here. Waitlists order is determined by when you asked to be put on the waitlist. Keep in mind too the Treasure is sailing very full, which means there's less 'wiggle room' to move people around (either early/late seating or private tables). Requests are just that, and while DCL does their best to accommodate there's only so much they can do.

Seating assignments are done on the ship a week or so prior to boarding. The Treasure in March will be hard to get changed as it is prime break season. If a private table is the top priority, the chance of moving to main seating is lower.

Best wishes you get both a private table and main dining. Dining with another family is a favorite part of our cruise. Last cruise we were seated and a family was directed to our table and stopped the host to request a change for a private table. We were so sad. It felt like not getting picked for something in elementary school. lol. Luckily the servers found someone else to sit with us and we all had a nice time. I know it’s not for everyone and best to get worked out ahead of time.

Normally I would say wait but the squeaky mouse gets the cheese with Disney. I have found when I speak up and ask and remind them and ask again they are more willing to cave and give in. Its the annoying part of Disney to me but its the way it works.

You should’ve prioritized that. Getting two requests is nearly impossible You need to decide which is important to you. You’ll probably get a private table for late seating. I would’ve tried to get main seating first, then request a private table after that went through good luck. On the waitlist, it’s medical needs, then families with young children, then everyone else.

We were just on Treasure a couple of weeks ago. The dinner dining is a **nightmare.** I hate to say it, but I don't think I'd do Treasure (or Wish) again just for that reason. They packed us in like sardines and the tables are so close together that there's almost no privacy. Our table in 1923 was a little better (there were 6 of us, so we had a table to ourselves) but World of Marvel we got to know our next table neighbors and Plaza de Coco was just chaos.

I don't want to spoil your expectations - Treasure is absolutely beautiful and we had a great time other than dinners. And like I mentioned 1923 was OK.

There is a "dining request" session on embarkation day that you can go to. It's first come, first served and there was a long line for it when I was there. You can book Palo & Enchante there and make requests for main dining. I'd suggest getting in line early. It was in the Triton lounge next to Periscope Pub for our cruise.

Good luck!
