Still waitlisted for Aulani for June and getting nervous

We have our points at AKV, but are going to Hawaii in June. I was online at 8am (actually was ready at 7:59) 7 months to the day before our travel and could only get one night booked of the four we wanted. I continued each morning for 4 days and got one night each time. Unfortunately, I have one night in an Ocean View, the next in a Lock-off Ocean View, the third in an Ocean View and the fourth in an Island Garden View. I waitlisted the two non-Ocean View nights for Ocean View and have been stalking the website almost every day since with no luck. I realize now that I probably should have made a week reservation before our 7 month date and then dropped the first 3 nights, but that didn't seem very honest and it's too late now anyway. Nothing has opened up where we could get the same room for all four nights. At least we have rooms, but the thought of moving our stuff each night is not too pleasant. Do things tend to open up closer to 30 days or are we probably out of luck? Any other ideas? I am hoping Disney won't make us move around, but understand that they may have no choice. We are a family of 6 so need a two-bedroom.
Thanks for any advice!

Have you been checking the website yourself, or are you just waiting for the waitlist to come through? We have a waitlist, but I have gotten some additional days for a room by checking the site and finding them myself. So, if you haven't been checking too, I would do that. The availability for the dates I have been checking is usually just a day here or there and in various room categories, but you may be able to get what you need, or at least fix it so you don't have to move rooms every night!

I have been checking the website daily to see if I could find something that didn't hit my waitlist request, but no luck. Still keeping our fingers crossed!

Keep checking, Gatorvet. Saying a little prayer that your W/L comes through for you. You still have time. :sunny:

Good luck - all I can tell you is that we had to cancel a trip to DL & Aulani 8 days out once due to a medical emergency with our DS which left him unable to fly for 3 weeks. This close I would think the only thing that is going to create openings is something along the same lines. Not to be a negative Nellie but I would expect most people who have booked a trip like this are pretty set on going unless something terrible comes up. I know it crushed us to have to cancel when we did but we had no choice.

While I agree with AnalAnnie because this OP's w/l is for Aulani which requires trans-Pacific airfare for the majority of members, I think there is still a chance especially up until the 31 day penalty mark.

Gatorvet, if it was me I would give MS a call to make sure your W/L is precisely input as you desire. Never hurts to verify that all is correct and perhaps they can give you a gross idea of your odds.

Wait lists do come through. I would check with member services as well. Sometimes they can help when the website can't. Also once you have spoken with MS and explained your challenge ask for that CM's telephone extension. That way if you have to call again you can speak with the same person and avoid all the explaining each time. I had some issues with my reservation for Aulani for this October and being able to speak with the same person made the process much easier. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!:)

Good news! Both waitlisted days came through last week- 57 days before travel! Since the two days we had waitlisted were non-consecutive, I wonder if both actually opened up or if MS saw that our reservation was a mess and kindly fixed it. Whatever it was, we now have 4 nights in an Ocean View room, so we are set. Thanks all for the advice.
