Has DLR figured out how to allow people to stay and spend more money at DLR yet?

Put another way; Has anyone recently had any luck adding an extra day to their tickets?

My family is going to be there this weekend, please tell me they have this figured out. This is sad...
:confused3

We did yesterday. My family had 6-day hoppers that I had purchased online right before the price increase. After using 2 days, we went to the ticket booth and asked to add a day to each ticket. The person at the booth went to ask how to do it, and, after consulting someone, suggested that we go ahead and go to 8 days for the same price. It did take some time to process, and names were printed on each ticket. A lead had to come over and enter something in the computer a few times. It cost $5 per ticket.

Good to hear we will be there Saturday and are hoping to add a day!:cool1:

It seems like people are having no trouble adding days to the old 6 day tickets. It is 5 day tickets made after the change that are running into issues. I stupidly booked DLH with packaged tickets and assumed they gave me 5 day hoppers because I booked 6 nights. I'm seriously considering canceling, booking off site, and buying 7 day hoppers from WDW to use.

I'm still deciding what to do. It seems crazy that DL can't see that their new ticket options don't work for everyone.

WONDERFUL News for my family!!! Thank you so much!

When they issue you the new ticket does it have your name on it?

Sorry....just reread the thread. There has been a lot of renting of longer hoppers on Craigslist and Ebay, so I guess by making the ticket holder upgrade and have the name printed on the ticket,it may curtail some of that illegal activity.

It sounds like that's their concern, illegal tickets, but they must find a way to enforce the rules without making it too difficult on their paying guests.

This reminds me of the recording industry from the late nineties to the early 2000's. With copy protection on CD's they made it so difficult on paying customers that most kids basically became hackers so they could use their cd's as they wanted. Then the recording industry would sue the kids. Thus iTunes was born, and now the recording industry is dying of what amounts to a self-inflicted wound.

Hate to see Disney travel down THAT road.

The previous time we came (March 2011), we had to write our names on the tickets in ink when we first exchanged the vouchers. We were asked for ID about half the time we entered. This time no one has been asked for identification a single time, and my aunt (who stuck with the 6-day hopper due to illness) never wrote her name on the ticket at all. I wish they'd implement something to stop the abuse of the longer tickets.
