Still Sassy after all this time!

Judi, I have SO missed you & your uplifting pictures! And Mr. Judi will like our garage much better since Ryan & I spent all weekend installing racks/shelves etc... It was a freaking mess! Now I don't have to bend myself like Gumby to get in & out of my car.

As for the house... I love it! It's bigger than I wanted, but Ryan promised me that if we got it, they would help out more around the house. I don't want to spend every waking moment cleaning! So far, they've been helpful. I still spend more time on the house then I'd like, but mostly because it was FILTHY when we moved in, and it's taking a long time to bring it to a state of normalcy.

Heather, do NOT blame yourself for having to wait another year to send Joey to Kindy. It happens all of the time! Especially for boys! They just don't always mature as quickly as the girls. Doesn't mean he isn't smart, or has something wrong with him-- I am sure he is a perfectly normal little guy who just needs a little more time.

Angus, I left my cloven socks in my nice, dry bedroom. It just wouldn't do to let them get that nasty Lake Erie water all over them! And what if they shrank on my feet? The horror! It's not like I can just dash on over to Epcot for a replacement pair (or 3). :sad2: Now I wish I was at Epcot.

Tricia, no Albertson's here. Hope you find some good deals! I am waiting with baited breath (that phrase always invokes images of eating worms) for the Wegmans down the street to open up. Scheduled for Nov 8th!)

Off to Meet the Teacher for Riley, and then Reece has 6th grade orientation at 1.

Have a great day!!!

I didn't make it to Albertsons after all. I was actually two stores down returning something and when I tell you the parking lot was like a zoo. I figure it the lot is that bad then what's the lines going to be like? I opted out and will go tomorrow instead.

Tricia-it's the same here. Whenever a new grocery store opens they usually have some fabulous sale and it's MOBBED! I stupidly went to a new store opening once and every register was open and had lines all the way back into the aisles. Crazy!

What's everyone doing for the long weekend? We're taking it easy-we'll probably grill something one day and maybe see a movie. Other than that we'll be hanging by the pool.

If I were you Tricia, I'd give it a few days. No opening sale is worth crowded aisles & long lines.

No big plans this weekend Angus. The weather here is beautiful, so probably tennis, yard work, grilling out. We went to the pool the other day, first time there since it's cooled off, and the water was flippin frigid! Poor Riley with his 0% body fat was purple in about 10 minutes. Unfortunately, I don't have that issue.:rotfl:

Is it still 10,000 degrees in AZ?

Went to Riley's Meet the Teacher today, and though I have heard great things about the school, I'm a little disappointed. We left a very diverse neighborhood, and got to know lots of wonderful people from many different ethnic backgrounds. To say that his new classroom is more, um, homogenous is an understatement. I guess we'll have to make more trips to the old 'hood and into D.C. so that he doesn't grow up in a little white bubble.

Off to Reece's orientation in a bit.

Gotta love Maxine & her words of wisdom!:rotfl2:

Have a great weekend everyone. I think I will be painting the basement guestroom and probably grilling out Sat.

Hey, Sassies!

I'm at my pre-school, working on my classroom, and I need a break! Wilma, are you totally ready? I am burnt out from summer, I didn't take any break between school years. Said goodbye to my summer campers (mostly comprised of last year's students) on Friday and tomorrow is a new group! Got some nice gifts though! :goodvibes

I saw Shannon's house last weekend! It truly is beautiful, and the inside is even more gorgeous than the outside! I'm totally jealous of that hag! My girls did not want to leave that beautiful place!

So things are still the same with me. Although I have started dating again. No one I have a really awesome connection with yet though. Last night I went with someone to see High School Musical at the Wolf Trap. It was pretty fun, and amusing to watch all the little girls dancing and singing along. I think I'll probably just remain friends with him, because he likes me more than I like him. Thursday I went out with a different guy, we went to dinner. We laughed and laughed. It was really fun. He called me as we were both driving home to tell me how much fun he had and the next day he texted me wanting to hang out tonight when he gets back in town (gone for the holiday weekend). I'm thinking that's a good sign. So we'll see how that goes. I haven't heard from him today yet, I know he is on the plane right now. He has never read a harry potter book or seen a HP movie! *GASP!* I know. So tonight we are supposed to watch the first one together, then he is supposed to watch movies #2 - 5 on his own, and then we'll go see #6 in theaters (it will be my 3rd time seeing it. :).

How is everyone's weekend going? Any fun plans? I took the girls to the Scottish Festival on Saturday. It was pretty fun!

Talk to you girls later! :yay:

Hey Hagitha! I had fun hanging with you guys too! Glad you & the girls like our new digs. Hope to have you guys out a lot more often, even if it is sort of a drive... We almost went to the Scottish festival! But, Ryan's family decided to come over for an impromptu cookout. That's good though, b/c they're half of the reason we picked this part of NoVA to move to! We've seen them more in the past 2 months than we did all of last year!

I hope the transition to the "regular" school year goes smoothly for ya. Oh, and also that you find your Prince Charming. No biggie, right?;)

How was everyone's else's weekend? We just got home from suit shopping for Ryan, and lacrosse equip shopping for Reece. I may have to sell Ryan on eBay to pay for Reece's stuff. Sporting equip. is highly overpriced!

Yee-HAW Judi!

How are things in the Temporarily-Defrosted North?

Good Morning.

I hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend. We had two family gatherings with lots of food. Of course I ate way too much and wasn't exactly good with the diet I'm supposed to be one. Oh well!!!!!
So, did school start for the rest of your children on Tuesday? How did that go? I hope all the kids got the teacher they wanted.

Is Becca still in Disney? I'm ready for some new pictures.

Thoughts & prayers for our country and all of the brave men & women who lost their lives or loved ones 8 years ago. I love D.C., but this is a sad time of year around here.

Hey Tricia! Yup, the boys started on Tuesday, and so far, so good. Reece gave his first day an "8.75 out of 10." He met a nice girl at the bus stop yesterday, and came home skipping and smiling. However, I got the Glare of Death when I asked if she was cute. :confused3

Riley loves kindergarten, though is a little less detailed in his descriptions. Back-to-school night yesterday evening provided some more clarity on topics he's mentioned (sort of jumbled together) such as: The Golden Plunger, lion's paws, pajama parties, yellow lines and red lines, hugs & bubbles... You can see where I might have been confused!

Today I was scheduled to get furniture delivered that we ordered June 29th. Bedroom set for us, and kitchen table & chairs. They called last night leaving message with the delivery window. Showed up today... no kitchen furniture! :headache: How flipping hard would it have been to explain that on the message last night? This is just the finale to a long series of rude calls, mix-ups, and delays on their part. It's frustrating to hand a large amount of money to a company and then to have to sit back with no control over the process!

Hey long lost Sassies!!
I know I am a long lost one. I haven't logged in in a month!

I hope you are all well. I have this cold thing, so feeling  at the moment, but hopeful it will pass quickly.

We're heading into week 4 of classes at the college -- I am teaching a 4 credit writing course in addition to my regular work! So far I really like it. I am also coaching hs volleyball again. It is fun and a good diversion for me. But I think I need my head examined as my "little" squirt started playing 5th grade tackle football this year. So we are total nut-cases right now.

Shannon -- on the house! Looks really awesome!!!

I wanted to shout out to you all! I've missed you!

Shanaynay! I wanna hear more about the golden plunger and the lions paws. What's up with that?

Where are all of my Sassy friends?!?!! I hope all is well!

Julie, sounds like you are busy to the extreme! How is Atlas?

Bonn, The Golden Plunger is a daily award given out by the janitor to the cleanest classroom. We were assured that the plunger is new!:rotfl: It is spray painted gold, be-glittered and be-dazzled! Surely a plunger fit for a queen.

Riley's class earns lion paws for good behavior, then they're put up on the "Path through the Jungle." They have pit stops at Treasure Box, Cookie Time, Drop Everything and Play, and have a final destination at Pajama Party with Cocoa. Very cute.

Had a good weekend. Went to Philly Saturday for my niece's 7th birthday. It was exactly one year since my brother's mom was killed by that drunk driver on her way to my niece's 6th birthday party. So, it was nice to see my niece have a good time this year, but it was sad for the adults. I'm flying to Boston on the 26th for a memorial they're having for her at her old college. The woman who killed her is still awaiting her trial. Recently was re-jailed for violating the terms of her bail. She was driving around with under-age drunk kids! Some people never, ever learn.:sad2:

On a better note, Reece is adjusting to middle school very well. Started playing lacrosse this weekend, and has a girlfriend already!:scared1: I am NOT ready for this! He's begging for a cell phone for Christmas. Apparently, he's the ONLY one at school who doesn't have one. Riiiiiight. Nice try buddy.

Howdy!! It is finally cooling off a little here-we're only going to be 99 tomorrow!! :cheer2: You'd be surprised how cool that feels after being 105-115 for so long.

We're starting to plan a trip to WDW for F&W next October. I just love going for F&W!!

Have a great Tuesday Sassies!

I am putting out an APB for the missing Sassies!!! Busy time of year, isn't it?
I hope everyone and their families are doing well.

Angus, though it still sounds broiling hot, I'm sure 99 feels muuuuuch better! I've never been to F&W. One day, it will happen. :thumbsup2 Are you getting excited for your cruise yet?

Becca, come back & give us details! I hope no one got that nasty Disney bug this year.:sad2:

Good Morning SASSIES!

Angie a trip in October seems like a wonderful time to visit with the Mouse. I'm starting to get that itch to plan a trip myself. We are going to come into more restraints on when we can go because next year Kelsie will be in college and she won't get the same holidays as the other two. With all seriousness she asked me if I would really go without her. I was teasing her but of course we wouldn't do that as long as she still wants to go with us. She will be going to Disney for her Senior Trip. They go for Grad Night. I think it's in April but haven't gotten any information on that yet.

Have a good day everyone. I'm in the mood for a little shopping today. I have my Christmas list all made out but only have one thing bought so far.

Hi.
Tricia, Amazingly I have 3 things bought for Christmas so far. But I probably won't be able to get back at it for a month or two.

Hope all of you are well. I am mostly over my cold, just a cough once in awhile.

Send us some happy, positive thoughts and prayers...we are going to meet a little boy tonight that could become a member of our family. We are very excited.

Tomorrow we have a volleyball tournament and a football game. Maybe Sunday will be relaxing....
Have a great weekend!

Hope everyone is having a Terrific Tuesday! So far, I've gotten 3 kids to school (Rachel is here while Ryan's mom is out of town), cleaned kitchen, gotten Riley to swim lesson, home, showered, fed & off to P.M. Kindy, had a shouting match with furniture repairman, and scooped poop from the hermit crab cage.

Is 11:30 too early for wine?:rolleyes1

Off for errand running.

Miss all of you!
