Still Sassy after all this time!

Good morning Sassies! I awoke to a fresh layer of snow. Its not fluffy pretty snow, its slushie nasty snow. All the trees are weighed down and crying for someone to rescue them.

Tricia, sounds like Kelsie had a great time and they all looked so nice! I really like that you made breakfast for the whole group, thats a great idea!

We had such a good time in Chicago this weekend. I'll post some pics later. We took one of my cousins and another cousin moved to Chicago recently so we met her and went to the Museum of Science and Industry, Legoland and Rainforest Cafe. It was a really fun day.

Becca it sounds like a great weekend. I just love Rainforest Cafe. We always eat at the one at Downtown Disney on our first night. Sort of a little tradition for us.

Are your boys off this week for spring break? My kids are off this Friday then the whole next week. Our break is always around Easter.

Good morning sassies!

Bonnie:

Tricia - The prom pictures are wonderful. She looks beautiful :)

Angie - 2/3 weeks with MIL. :headache:

Becca - Glad you had fun on chicago. I saw some on your pictures on facebook & it looks like a great time.

FoP - I hope you get your new computer

Nothing major here. I'm slightly annoyed at the Dis though. I posted some question on the DVC board about buying in & in turn got a ton of pms & emails asking me to use them as the referral. I hate unsolicated crap like that especially from people I've never talked to or seen around the boards. I'm pretty sure we are just going to buy in come Sept unless Shaun gets another wicked nice bonus before that. Speaking of bonuses - Shaun got one & we finally bought ourselves a new bed since the matress we are using was mine from the time I was 8 or so. That old matress will be the guest room bed until we can replace that. He then made me spend the rest of the bonus on unpractical things & I got my first coach.

Apparently we have deer. We went to bed last night at 11:30. Gaston got settled in bed & then jumped to the window and started freaking out, something he never does. He even howled which I've never heard him do before. So I got up to see what it was. A white tail deer accross the street chewing on some grass/weeds! Crazy.

I feel like I haven't been around in a year!

Counters look great, carpets cleaned today, pressure washing tomorrow. Been painting, sanding decks, landscaping like a madwoman. I have callouses on my callouses! Finally made appt with the realtor for a week from Sat, so it's actually REAL. Now, fingers crossed & plenty of prayers & PD please!!!

Angus-- Hope you're surviving so far... Keep us posted!

Bonnie-- How's Ainslee feeling? Hopefully better! for getting your papers signed. I know that was a bittersweet event for you. Thanks for your compliments on the kitchen. I was nervous about the colors matching, but it worked out well. I got taken for a ride today on the carpet cleaning though. The old "bait & switch" and I suddenly ended up paying double.

Wilma-- yikes! Computer problems are the pits! I hope Mr. FoP gets on the new computer bandwagon soon! And yes, men most definitely need it to be "their idea.":rotfl:

Tricia-- Kelsie looked so beautiful, and what a nice idea the breakfast was. I really hope your sore throat petered out, and nothing else followed in its wake!

Bex-- Glad you're feeling better! Your trip to Chicago sounds like it was fun! Ryan & I were there 2 summers ago for a wedding, and we loved it. We want to take the boys there some time to see all of the museums. And SNOW? Seriously?? ACK! All of my hostas & day lilies have popped up, cherry blossoms have come & gone. Though to be perfectly honest, as much as I think cherry blossoms are beautiful... have ya ever SMELLED them?:scared1: Reece thinks they smell like rotting animals or week-old fish sticks. And they get tracked in all over my house!

Mel-- Deer!! Welcome to the wilderness my friend! Just wait for the mice, ants, & spiders the size of sugar cookies.:rolleyes1 Sorry 'bout your spammed PM box. I guess I would be stating the obvious if I said there are quite a few DISers lacking tact and class... Kudos to Shaun & his handy dandy bonus! Which Coach did you get?

Hi Kimmy, Julie, GP, Squid, & everyone!

Oohh, goody for me - the computer is in the mood to work!

Hooray, Shannon! Isn't it scary what comes out of carpet when you clean it?:scared1: Good luck with the realtor!

DVC, Mel? That's great news!

Tricia - How late did the kids sleep after prom and the tasty breakfast? I am impressed - I probably would have given my kids a $20 and sent them to IHOP!

We are dog sitting my sister's pooch and Wally is being a PITA! He seems to think he needs to have his mouth attached to her ears at all times and the poor thing just takes it! I need a treadmill for this hound!;)

Morning Sassies!

Mel I love the purse. I only have one Coach and it's kind of small. It's the hipster one and I take it to Disney. Other than Disney I've only ever used it at the casino because you really can't fit much in it. :confused3

Shannon your house sounds like it's coming along beautifully. I still don't know if you are trying to move out of the area or just into a bigger house.

Yea for Wilma and her computer working.

Bonnie how are you doing my friend?

Shout out to all my other sassy friends................Judi, Becca, Kimmy, Grumpy pirate:, Julie and Squiddy.

Today I'm Easter shopping. I've already got all the candy that I need but I still need fun stuff to go along with that.

Am I the first one up? Who has the diet coke?:goodvibes

Good morning, Sassies! What's shakin'?

Tricia, you beat me to it! Glad to see I am not the only Sassy! I have Easter shopping and shoe shopping to do today. BamBam's soles are literally peeling off of his shoes, so it's time for some new ones, I think!

I put books in my kid's Easter baskets, and candy of course. What else do you all put (or receive) in yours?

Oh, and Shannon is moving within the same area, just to a place with a better commute I think. Does this satisfy our educational thread component? I feel like we have not been educational in a while!

I put books in my kid's Easter baskets, and candy of course. What else do you all put (or receive) in yours?

This was so much easier when they were younger. I would put things like books, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, sunglasses .................Now that they are older it's a little more challenging. Kelsie I got a Starbucks gift card, Kendall and Colin nothing but candy so far. :sad2::confused3

Good morning Sassies! I really wish the weather would cooperate better for Spring Break. Its snowing again this morning so none of the fun outside things I have planned for the week are practical. Oh well!

Wilma, I think the computer should "accidently" fall off whatever perch it is on. That way you're guaranteed a new one.

Meli, I love that Coach! I am partial to the ones that don't have the C's all over. I only have one with C's everywhere and its my touring bag so its little. Congrats on the new bed too! How exciting!!

Tricia, I'm having a hard time with my boys Easter baskets too. I finally decided they both needed new roller blades. I never get them too much candy.

Judi, it sounds like you have more snow than we do. I'm really ready for Spring!

Bonnie,

Shannon, we need pics of your new countertop! I really want granite.

Julie, Kimmy and pirate: :yay:

Becca, we are in the same boat here. I planned fun stuff the the kids but it's freezing and windy outside. Plus, I had imagined that the visiting dog would want to play with Wally, thereby giving us a break, but she has other plans and would rather lay on a pillow. Laying on a pillow is rarely in Wally's plan, so we are at an impasse. So, shoe shopping it is. The kids are actually excited about going shoe shopping, that's how bored they are. Sheesh! Oh, and sadly the computer sits on the floor so I don't see how I can manage to have it fall from a height significant enough to kill it. However, I could probably get Wally to run into it when he's having a puppy spaz attack. Maybe that's the way to go!

QOTD - do you think any other fruits could dance as well as this banana? My money is on the pomegranet. Did I spell that right? Anyway, it seems like a fruit that can move and groove. What do you think?

Good morning sassies!! I am trying to enjoy the MIL visit, but she is already driving me crazy! She bought a house here (woo hoo-NOT) and has decided that my DH will fix it up for her. As in painting the interior, installing all the ceiling fans, sealing the tile grout (it's a brand new house so all white walls and the floor tile is really light with almost white grout). In fairness to her, he probably volunteered to do all this for her. Plus, he has to fly to Kansas and drive her U-Haul down here and then unload it. I asked him if he was going to be over there every time she needed a light bulb changed and he said probably! :rotfl: How she ever lived alone for almost 30 years is a mystery to me since she doesn't seem to know how to do anything.

Shannon~I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. I'm sure your house will sell super quick since it sounds like you fixed it up so nice. Have you started looking at new houses yet?

Becca~snow for Spring Break? Bummer. I'm glad you had fun in Chi-town. Was the weather nice when you were there? Is your Dad here, or has he headed north already?

Bonnie~I'm so sorry for all you are going through. But I'm glad you at least got started on the whole thing since it takes so long. We're here if you need us. :flower3:

Meli~I would love it if deer wandered through my neighborhood! I guess if they ate my plants I wouldn't be too happy though. Gaston sounds like a good watch dog. Congrats to Shaun on the bonus!

Wilma~hey! Long time no see. We have the same problem with our dogs-the younger one always wants to play and the older one almost never wants to! I'm sure as soon as the computer crashes when Mr. FoP is in the middle of something he'll be ready for that new computer! :thumbsup2 I think grapes could shake their groove thing pretty well. :goodvibes

Tricia~loved the prom pics-Kelsie looked so pretty! What a fun idea to have them come back to your house for breakfast! My mouth was watering after reading the menu. :teeth:

Judi~what's up up in the mitten? All that snow better melt before your camperless camp out! ;)

Hi Julie, Kimmy and Squiddy!!

Squiddy did he call back and make a second date?

It's complicated. He did, but it isn't going to work. I can't handle his job - I can't just be a spur of the moment person because I have a daughter. It's ok though, I do have a date this weekend with a very nice man. It's a blind date, but actually I have talked so much on the phone to him that I feel like I know him.

Here's my hot man contribution for the day.

Yummy!

Hi Kimmy, Julie, GP, Squid, & everyone!

Shannon! Miss you girl!

Hi to all the sassies - thanks for all the best wishes and thoughts. We have moved into our apartment and the Squidlet and I are really happy now. I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday.

Sorry about that Mel! If you have any questions about DVC just ask and don't worry I won't ask you to use me as a referral - I live in a state that doesn't allow them. I do just love my DVC and made sure it was one of the things that I got in the divorce.

He got the house and I got full custody of the kid and the DVC. I am the winner!

We are dog sitting my sister's pooch and Wally is being a PITA! He seems to think he needs to have his mouth attached to her ears at all times and the poor thing just takes it! I need a treadmill for this hound!;)
Awww. My dogs love to attach eachother to the other's easrs.

Mel I love the purse. I only have one Coach and it's kind of small. It's the hipster one and I take it to Disney. Other than Disney I've only ever used it at the casino because you really can't fit much in it. :confused3
Those are nice too. I carry too much stuff with me on a daily basis for the small ones though.

I put books in my kid's Easter baskets, and candy of course. What else do you all put (or receive) in yours?
Oh nice! I usually got a book in mine & a dvd growing up.
I wanted to do baskets for the dogs, but I'm not allowed.

Meli, I love that Coach! I am partial to the ones that don't have the C's all over. I only have one with C's everywhere and its my touring bag so its little. Congrats on the new bed too! How exciting!!
I'm the same way :)

QOTD - do you think any other fruits could dance as well as this banana? My money is on the pomegranet. Did I spell that right? Anyway, it seems like a fruit that can move and groove. What do you think?
I think a peanut would dance well. But that isn't a fruit...

Oh no! Moving there. :grouphug:

I'm glad he's a good watch dog too.

Sorry it didn't work out. Glad you two are happy :)

Haha. I'm glad you got that in the divorce! I figured out my answer anyway since I can't stack the Disney Visa offer & the second price point reduction offer so we're just waiting now anyway. (Well and hope BLT doesn't sell out before Sept)

Right now I am listening to the power washing guys hack up lungs & spit loogies outside on my deck. I hope they wash those off.

Sorry Tricia-- I think you asked me about my move several pages back. I can barely remember my name these days... Wilma has it correct. We're moving about 15/20 miles west, near Dulles Airport. Ryan will switch his office to one out there, and thus cut his daily commute time from about 1.5 hrs each way to 15-20 minutes.

Will get some counter pictures up here soon! Love them!

Wilma-- I hope your furry house guest decides to be more cooperative. I'm sure Wally would like that as well! I vote to see a tangerine tango. Muy caliente.

Angus-- Ugh. Sounds like a lot of quality MIL time is on your horizon. On the bright side, at least she won't be staying in your house for extended periods of time!

Squiddy-- Miss you too, ya freaky aquatic creature. Yay for your settlement terms!:woohoo: Of course, if you ever tire of your daughter I'd be more than happy to borrow her! Kate is awesome.:cutie:

Meli-- Love your coach purse. Very summery! I'm not a huge CCCCCCCC fan either. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya that BLT still has availability in Sept.

Pomegranate. That's better.

Time to walk the furry guest. At least there is less barking today, Wally seems to get that that did not work like he wanted it to. Tomorrow night is Passover, and I have to figure out how to make matzo ball soup. Usually, this is in my MIL's domain but she is on a cruise so I have become Miss Matzo Ball. Any ideas? Help this poor shiksa out!

Good luck on the date, Squid!

Good luck with the MIL, Angie!

:grouphug:, Bonnie!

QOTD: I think watermelon would make a great dancer, did anyone see the way those watermelons were bopping in Dirty Dancing? I had great hope for the Star Fruit, but the name is too much to live up to.

Squiddy, good luck on the date. It must be kind of exciting/scary to be out there again! Glad to hear you and Kate are enjoying your new apartment. And I'm really happy you got the DVC and the Squidlet, I agree you got the better deal!

Shannon, I didn't realize Ryan had such a nasty commute. Yuck, I would move too. Nasty about the loogies though!
