I posted a thread for help with Nassau excursions and had some great tips - the favorites seemed to be the Dolphin excursion and the Pirate Museum but DS (4) doesn't seem interested at this age to meet the dolphins and he is very afraid of pirates and the website does say it can be scary for kids (not to mention so did my sister who has been there). I've checked out several travel books from the library and I'm just having a tough time deciding what to do.

DH and I have been to Nassau before so I had originally planned to just stay on the boat and enjoy those activities. Has anyone done that? Are the pools filled while in port? I just don't want DS to miss out on anything, but I can't seem to come up with anything he would really enjoy, except spending $170+ to get a Comfort Suites room to use the Atlantis pools. We live 10 minutes from the beach so I'm thinking our day at Castaway Cay will be our only beach day. Has anyone taken the Historical Harbor Cruise and Paradise Island Tour? I have no problem booking an excursion that is not through Disney. I'm a total planner and this has me all worked up, I know you guys can hepl!

Thanks for any advice you may have!!:) :)

Personally, I would opt for staying on the ship. There is lots to do, and the pools tend not to be crowded so it's a great time to hang out and relax. If this was your first time to Nassau, I would say "Go and see it," but if you've been there, you can have a very nice day by just pretending it's a day at sea. If you want to see the activities offered on board on that day, my hubby just posted the navs. from our trip this weekend.

On our cruise we didn't book any excursions, but just got off the ship and walked around. Since your DS is so young, I would suggest doing just that, especially since you & DH have already been to Nassau. In my opinion, a walk from the ship a few blocks to see the pink government buildings and maybe wandering through the straw market combined with the wonderful panoramic view of the area you get from Deck 10 would be enough for a 4yo to be able to say "Been there, done that". Then you can spend the rest of the time enjoying the ship while it's a little bit emptier.

Whatever you decide, enjoy!

Thanks! I'm taking the advice. We'll wonder around a little just off the ship and then spend the rest of the time on-board. I have a plan I can move on now, ha ha ha. Thanks again.

One more option for you :)
The Blue Lagoon Beach Day was really nice. Not very crowded at all like Castaway Cay and lots of little kids were there. The lunch was nothing to write home about but was something to eat, and as soon as you get back on the ship you can eat anything!!!!!
