Still looking for a fish extender group for Wonder 1/29/17

Hey there, I hope this is OK to post outside the meetup posts, but there's not been much activity to speak of on the one for our cruise. Since we have a few weeks left, I wanted to make a last-ditch effort to drum up interest in a fish extender exchange, or get in on one I might not know about for the Wonder, 1/29/17 4-nighter from Port Canaveral to Bahamas. About 5 or 6 people on the meetup thread expressed interest over the last year, but I don't know where everyone is now.

I also tried to contact everyone backchannel through DIS but I wasn't able to. This might just be a non-DIS populated cruise!

Also tried on a couple of Social Places That Shall Not Be Named, but can't figure it out anyway! I know this is the best place anyway...

We've been members of DIS for years and years -- even though my membership says 2013 for some reason -- it goes back at least 10 years before that -- but this is our first cruise! Any help or insights would be appreciated.

Fish Extenders are handled on Cruise Meet threads here on DISboards. For those groups who choose to do one. Not all cruises have an active cruise meet thread. Not all threads (active or not) have Fish Extender groups.

I'd post there and ask if anyone is going to set one up. Or, maybe, you could volunteer to do it.

Your cruise is less than a month away so it might be hard to join an existing group. Hopefully someone on your group will show some interest. If not, put up a FE holder and put stuff in it for your kids when they are not around.

The cruise she is speaking of is a few weeks away, so she is already past the 6-8 month period, and she already stated she tried on the meet threads, but wanted to try one last time to make sure.......good luck JanieMc

This is a really good idea and you can cater it exactly to their tastes. A little something new each day or two.

I am surprise that your sailing group on FB doesn't have a fish extender list. My sailing date on the Wonder is just after yours and there were so many people interested they had to create 2 lists.

HI your group FE might be locked this close but sometimes there are late comer groups. Are you sure you checked other social media sites because I found your sailing and they are quite active! With about 130 members. Good luck!

Hey, helpful info, terkov. I've been on the DIS FE board for a little while... but since new to FE, prob didn't sign up soon enough to get in on it elsewhere. But, I submitted a request to join on the Site That Shall Not Be Named and we'll see if there are any stragglers like us. Thanks, guys.

Hi there Roxanne, I found a group on other social media I should be able to cite -- especially because DIS doesn't have a group for this sailing -- but it's easy enough to find. Type in the ship and the dates. I joined the latecomers FE group right at the deadline -- which was last Sunday -- but I think there is some reputed "pixie dust" floating around for still later-comers. (I don't know what this means! But you can ask -- these guys are SO nice and just want everyone to have fun.) There are other things they're doing too. Take a look!
