sorry but i cant get my head into gear.
i am sure someone will put me right.

i have a free quick service meal plan.
i am entitled to 2 quick service meals and two snacks.

lets say i have breakfast at pofq can i choose anything from the entree at the quick service restaurant, including the most expensive on the menu?

lets say for evening meal we decide to eat at the flame tree barbq at animal kingdom. and i order 1/2 Slab of St. Louis Ribs - Served with baked beans and a corn muffin. - $10.49. Chocolate Cake - $3.59 and Lemonade $2.19, I thought that the maximum price on quick service meals was $9.00. do i have to pay the difference? is this not part of the ddp or is it a myth that the maximum is $9.00

in order to get the maximum from my fddp i intend to buy the most expensive and tastiest meals on the menus! and i have one hell of an appetite!

Myth. You are entitled to 1 entree or combo meal plus dessert and drink at any participating QS location. There is no monetary limit.

QSDP Details in a nice short list:
  • You will receive 2 QS Credits and 2 Snack credits per person per night of your stay
  • You will receive credit for 1 refillable mug per person
  • Credits will begin the moment you check in, and will be available until midnight after your check-out
  • Each type of credit will be pooled, so for example: If you are staying 5 nights on the QSDP, the moment you check in you will have 10 QS and 10 Snack credits available to spend as you please over the length of your stay. If you felt so inclined, you could even use all 10 QS credits that first day, I wouldn't recommend it, even for someone with a hefty appetite ;).
Just noticed that you are traveling in 2011. You may want to keep your eyes on the 2011 rumors changes thread in the Dining Plan sub-forum. As it stands right now, the most "promising" rumor is that QSDP may not receive mugs and that desserts may be removed from all QS entitlements.

where is this rumours page? i cant find it.

i will be gutted if they cut out the deserts. and the mug for that matter.
why cant they just leave things alone?

Is the dining plan going to change in 2011

It's still only rumor at this point, but it's based off of the information sent to UK travel agencies. Look toward the last couple of pages for the most recent version. Of course, they could change it to.. um, not change it (if that makes sense :p) at any time, so take it with a grain or two of salt.

Since you're British yourself, you may want to check with whoever you booked your vacation with and see what their literature says about the dining plan you booked. (Package details for the US are not out yet so none of this for 2011 can yet be confirmed)

For a counter service I like to go to Poly and get the Tonga Toast at Captain Cooks, this is very filling and comes with bacon and with breakfast you get 2 drinks or 3 if you have the mug, so I many get coffee in the mug, an orange juice for breakfast and a water to go for the parks later. I also like to go to Por Riversside mill food court for the made to order m=omlet for breakfast.
For Lunch or dinner yes i like the ribs and DW the chicken bbq at Flame Tree and comes with corn bread, baked beans, a drink and dessert. Check out Cosmic Rays or Columbia Harbor house at MK or Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD for some great CS meals

Just wanted to mention, wherever you're reading that menu, it's out of date. The ribs at Flametree come with beans & cole slaw (no corn muffin) And the dessert choices are also different --I think one is key-lime and the other is chocolate & they're like mousse in a small cup. The ribs are still a good value/large meal if you like BBQ ribs :thumbsup2

Also wanted to add that instead of one of the entree breakfasts, you could choose instead the continental breakfast which is not advertised (at least as far as I know). It would be 2 items from the bakery case and a drink from the grab and go section. I would usually choose a croissant and muffin or a small order of beignets and a muffin along with juice or a large bottle of milk. Since i had my refillable mug, I could also get my coffee with that.
