Still Confused About Transfers

My apologies but I have read literally a hundred posts about transfers and I still have a question...

Assume that I have a March UY and another DVC member has an August UY. can that member transfer their 2006 UY points to me before August 1st?

Technically the points are supposed to be transferred to the same use year (2006-2006).

That makes perfect sense. But if the member with an August UY wanted to transfer UY 2006 points tomorrow to me, wouldn't they effectively have to borrow 2006 points since it is not yet August 1? And in which case, borrowed points could not be transfered?

Am I overly complicating this?

No, as long as the points would be there at the appropriate later time, it doesn't matter. In theory, transferred points keep their original use year and home resort. In practice, they assume the use year and usually the home resort of the destination account. If they actually kept their home resort and use year, it wouldn't matter where you transferred them would it.

Due to the way the computer systems are set up, they really can't keep transferred points' home resort and use year. So in some cases, points will change across use years.

Example: the person with the August UY might be able to transfer 2005 points into your March 2006 use year, effectively extending the timeframe that those points can be used.

So, does this mean that it does not matter from which home resort one acquires transferred points? Since I have a BWV home resort, any transferred points would be BWV in DVC's system (with a BWV 11 month window)?
