I've been a little down about losing so slowly lately. I mentioned it to a friend last night and she reminded me of something I had heard before but had forgotten. If you think you're losing slow, think about a package of butter. If you just lose just 1/4 of a pound you're losing a whole stick of butter. This week I just lost .4 lbs but that's almost 2 sticks of butter I'm not carrying around on my body any more. I don't know about you but that sure makes me feel a lot better. :) So all of us slow losers need to take heart and consider all of those missing sticks of butter from our bodies. :p :p

I have used that 'visualization' technique in the past and it can be really motivating. It is really impressive when you start looking at heavier weights as well. A 5 lb. bag of sugar, a 10lb bag of potatoes, even using my DS who is just a little over 20 pounds as a guage can be helpful! :)

Cool, I lost two sticks of butter :) My best visualization though is looking at my twins they weigh 42 and 41 pounds...If I put all the weight I have lost all together, I have about an equal weight to 1 and a 1/2 of them :)

I like that idea! thanks a bunch! I had also heard about the potatoes, if you ever get frustrated go and carry around sacks of potatoes at the store, it is amazing to "feel" how much you have lost!

Hey I like those ideas too. I sure can't imagine walking around carrying 29 lbs. of potatoes.:p :p

I feel better already.:p :p :p :p

x 31.5 for me so far.

That would be 128 sticks of butter!

That is a gorgeous piece of imagery for me. Thank you TCKK!

Wow! That is motivating!! I am already anxious to lose some "butter"!! :p

This is a great visual image!!! Sometimes those small losses seem like VERY SLOW progress, but when you think of it in terms of butter it is a great victory!!!!!!! Thanks for giving us a new perspective! :)
