Stickles, Glitter or embossing?

I've been hunting for a pair of cute shoes for forever.

The issues are - i'm an old lady with poor balance and wide feet. The ones I LOVE are high heels with bling and ruffles.

The ones I can wear are low heels, black and boring.

Now, y'all know I'm a scrapper and there are lots of things to do with scrap supplies beyond the page.

The other day, I found this necklace in JC Penney's.

and I started thinking . . .

So, I bought some velcro at Inspiration Station and got out my scissors

And combined them with my shoes to create this:

Now, the question is - I have one pair of these chiffon roses left and I'd like to 'bling' them up a bit.

I could stickles around the petal edges. Or, ink the edges and emboss them gold. or spray glue and sprinkle with glitter. Or????

What would you do?

I would either stickles or spray glue. Very cute shoes! My sister does this sort of thing with clothing all the time!

Linda, you are amazingly clever. The rosettes look terrific on those shoes!!!

I say for the next pair, spray glue and glitter on the tips of the rose. I think maybe even see how a rhinestone in the middle of the rosette would look like.

I also need comfy shoes. I have explained to DH that very expensive high heels are comfortable - Manalos, Jimmy Choo, for example - but he doesn't get the hint so I'm on moderate heel flexible sole Clarks or M&S "footglove". I do remember in the 80s we could buy "shoe bows" which were a similar idea to this - I had a pair of velvet bows with diamante on the "knot" which would be easy to make and use up some of your left-over velcro.

They look way better on your shoes than they do as a necklace. Good call!

Love the fact that you can interchange them now with bling or non-bling. So smart.

well, in case anyone wants to try it - skip the stickles! It takes for EVER to dry and forms more of a 'ball' than a flat dot. Fabric glue and glitter worked great on flat tulle but on the sloping sides of the rose, it 'slumped' before it dried. That won't stop me from using them, however.

Then I used a 20 inch zipper to make two flowers with button centers. The brass of the zipper is rather gaudy, so i'll use those for pirate night. Photos tomorrow.

Now, I'm trying to figure out how to use trim with dangling beads on a pair. Unfortunately the twill tape from which they are hung is ugly - normally it would go in a seam and be hidden. . . .

These were made with the halves of a zipper with brass teeth (for pirate night)

And these are the "everyday" bows made out of the tails of the necklace, just to cover the velcro spots.
