Steps to Organize Breast Cancer Walk

Who can help me out with the steps I need to take to organize a breast cancer awareness walk in our area? We're trying to start now for next October because time flies and this is going to take a lot of work to get off the ground. Any help would be appreciated! We don't have one in our area that we could find this year so we're going to start working on our own for 2010.
