Stephanie's Starting Over, comments welcome

Well, I already knew I wasn't going to exercise on Sunday, since I got off work at 7, got home in time to get 3 hours of sleep before our book club outing to see the The Lovely Bones, and then lunch, after which we rushed home to get ready for our friends to come over to watch the game. i did manage to keep from completely stuffing myself on the delicious desserts, which I was proud of. I did exercise on Monday, though not to the standard I wanted too, but hauling around a 22 month old and a dog when walking makes it tougher :rotfl:

Today I accepted the fact that due to the frigid temps, I would not be able to take my son out for a lesiurely walk, so I did some sit ups, push ups, etc. tomorrow should hopefully be better, even if the weather doesn't cooperate, it's so much easier to get a decent work out in without the son and dog running around the house!

This weekend we are going to Texas to escape to some (slightly) warmer weather and to visit my sister. I know we will be eating at our favorite restaurants there, but I figure we will also be doing a lot of walking, and I am planning on exercising the next 3 days before we leave too, so it shouldn't be too bad.

Thank goodness I only have one more day of work! I am so ready to get out of here! I walked/ran on Tuesday, but I've been feeling "off" since Tuesday morning, so I stuck with weights etc today. Tomorrow I will have an empty house, since the parents and son will be leaving for our trip in the AM, and I will be taking the dog to the kennel. I am planning on doing a longer run/walk, since I won't have any time constraints, and then Saturday and Sunday it will just be a lot of sightseeing type walking. This "off" feeling has definitely affected my appetite, so I'm not feeling hungry much today, which helps :rotfl: I am trying to cut out the meal I eat during my night shift, or at least get it down to a snack type size. Unfortunately, other than dinner, that's the only meal I eat, so I will need to figure out something else... I went to the store today to get healthy snacks for the road trip portion of our mini-vacation, and we ended up with baked ruffles, turkey and whole wheat bread for sandwiches, grapes, apples, bananas, carrots and snap peas with light ranch, and some clementines. Overall a pretty healthy selection. Since the 2 meals we will be eating out will be decidedly unhealthy, I figured it was the least we could do! I'm just looking forward to a break from the cold, no matter how short!

We are back from Texas, and as far as I can tell, no heavier despite the fantastic food! We were pretty careful to eat healthy other than our special meals, and even for those, we were better than we could have been. We also did a lot of walking, and for the car trip we only packed healthy snacks. It was a little sad, not to be able to chow down on fast food and chips and cookies, but since we had a great meal right before we hit the road, it wasn't too devastating.

Of course we came back to below freezing temps (still) so it has been impossible to take DS on walks for exercise, so I will be making up for it with my runs/walks the next couple of days. It's supposed to be almost 40! It's so sad that it makes me so happy to be above freezing! I really need to consider moving to a warmer climate!

We sat down tonight and planned out our meals for the next week and a half, and I am hitting the grocery store tomorrow for all kinds of diety goodness! I weighed myself when we got back, but I wont really be able to measure my progress till tomorrow when I wake up. I stopped by Macy's today, and noticed all the pretty bathing suits... hopefully in a month or two I will be ready to buy one! We have a wedding to go to May 29th, so by then I want to have lost enough weight that I need to buy a new dress

Yay for 40 degree weather! I got in a decent run/walk, and even though I ran fewer minutes than i would have liked, my time for the 1.5 miles was the same as most previous days, and better than a couple days even. I think i am going to buy the book (or perhaps borrow from the library) Marathoning for Mortals for training purposes, after all the WDW marathin is only 321 days away!! I really need to kick it in gear so I can win the contest in our family and use the prize money to register and put a deposit down for the hotel. Our $250 weigh is in less than a month!! :scared1: So far none of us have lost any large amount of weight, which is not necessarily good, but at the same time it means I'm not way behind!! I think i have the motivation in place though, so hopefully I can succeed. We are Catholic, so for lent i decided to give up soda completely, which should help. I don't drink a ton now, but when we go out to dinner, I drink as many as they bring which is bad!:drinking1
On to another day!

this past week has been rough! it has been so so cold, so i have decided that if it is below 30, i am not doing an outdoor walk. most days this week have been in the 20's, so i have resprted to sit-ups, weights, etc. i think i am going to attempt to get a bigger tv fro our basement, so i can use the numerous exercise channel workouts, rather than paying an arm and a leg for the local Y.

i did get outside yesterday, it was supposedly 39, but it didn't feel that warm to me. i didn't run at all, my throat and chest have been hurting (looks like DS passed his sickness on to me after all) so i didn't want to make it worse. it looks like today is going to be warm enough to go out too! i cannot wait fro spring!

the dieting has been going pretty well, we have been very strict in our house, and it's paying off. i have also eliminated my 3 am meal here at work, and now i'm stickign with just coffee. there's a triple benefit to that, sinc eit fills, me up, wakes me up, and keeps me warm.

my mom and sister and i are planning a big shopping trip for the weekend after mothers day, since my sister is going to Paris for the summer as part of a study abroad and needs some "stylish" clothes, and it will be a belated mother's day present for my mom. we are going to take the train and stay overnight, and i'm hoping to buy a bunch of new, smaller summer clothes!
