9/3 - $0
9/4 - $0

9/7 - $17.85 Starbucks (lunch); $0.82 photos (trying to finish a scrapbook); $22.33 Digital scrapbook (first 20 pages were free, so 50% off)

Grocery budget for Week 1 - 200 -$8 +$107 savings, 1000 gas points= $1/gallon

Not terrible. Could do better though.
DH will be gone next week so that will help with the spending a bit.

9/8 $100 cash for DH for tolls and food (headed to DC for the week)
$20 cash for me, probably won't spend it but I hate not having any cash.

I'm not sure how to monitor his spending other than the have him submit household receipts.
I will focus on the household for the most part, and he can just do what he can.
Hotel, mileage, and most meals will be submitted back to work. Gas will be on us though, mileage covers all of that though.

I would love to join this thread! We are beyond broke this month! My work had a major upheaval earlier in the summer and things have not stablized like we thought they would by now so I was working 40+ hours a week for months and now am only averaging 25ish so if I actually want to go on our Disney trip next year, I need to buckle down. With the holidays and everything coming, we need to get some things under control.

So for my rules - I'm not counting monthly bills, babysitting, gas for the car, etc. Budget for groceries/household spending is $150 a week. I'm also including $50 out of my next paycheck to start some Christmas shopping and $200 out of my mileage check in a couple of weeks to make our Disney deposit :)

Just going to start today since I'm not sure what I've spent so far:

9/7 - grocery shopping for the upcoming week (just needed to supplement) - $38.00
9/8 - have to run to Wal-Mart to buy a poncho for my daughter for her first cheering game tonight (it's pouring here). Someone told me they were .88.

I was trying to make it a no spend weekend, but I noticed the cats were low on food and the dog would probably need some soon too, so I had to make a trip to the pet store. I resisted the cute halloween costumes though and only bought cat and dog food. Other than that, we're staying home tomorrow. DH said he's not moving his butt out of the chair because football is on all day, and I'll be busy trying to do house cleaning, laundry and still working on decluttering my sons' room, listing stuff on Craigslist and filling the Veteran's donation bag for them to collect this week.

I would love to be able to do this. Hopefully next month it will be more doable. This month is a terror storm. DH and I both started classes and his have him doing hotel conferences and things that cost 300 dollars for the weekend (yay private universities). Also sick amounts of bills to be payed. Finally a trip to WDW at the end of the month that may very well be the tipping point. Plus we need to do 13000 in concrete work. Seems like even if I am not spending on fun stuff I am spending every day....EEEKKK!

Its been a crazy crazy weekend. Went from DS4 being sick last week to DD getting sick Sat morning and missing DS4's bday party and DS9 puking on the way home from the party. Our house is one big petrie dish right now. I'm so tired from lack of sleep that I'm seeing double. And DH is travelling for work. Sigh.

Only started budgeting on Sept 7th so ok so far.

Sept 8 - bday party $103 under budget YEAH.
Sept 9 - $75 over budget on money going to the school for pizza lunch and parent/teach bbq.. and the milk money hasn't been asked for yet.

Guess they'll balance out. I did splurge on a $2 coffee for me today. Part of my plan was to give up my daily coffee... just needed it too bad today

Fall is in the air:sad: DH and his brother spent the day outside covering the pool, splitting wood, and cleaning the chimney (getting ready for wood burning) So, while they were outside I spent the day cooking and freezing several meals.

When recording my spending I will always round up by $ amount. I don't include change.
