I've been updating mine on page 3, but here is an update.

Goal was not eating out at all. 15th was dinner with a friend and seeing Finding Nemo 3D. Doing pretty well for my first go! :goodvibes:

You are more than half way through the month and have only had one slip. That is VERY good (for your first go, or for most any month). Back on the wagon.

ACK, I am totally off track!! But this coming payday is one that hurts so I must must must stay on track.

Starting again today. I also started a $1 jar. When I get a one dollar bill it goes into my jar. We will use this for gas for our Disney trip.

9/19 $1.10 green peppers for dinner $3 in dollar jar ;90 cents in Disney jar

Buffy, I like your dollar idea. I used to do something similar and was able to save up a few hundred for my trip! Maybe I should think of doing it again....

Catching up again! I bought some supplies at Michael's and stocked up on a bunch of stuff at The Body Shop. I was able to save $38 though!

I've decided to go to the Toronto Bridal Show after all. I'll be checking out venues at the end of this month too. I can't wait to have it booked!

Yuki I have the dollar jar pinned on my pinterest page, but it's $5. While $5 is great, it seems like a lot on money so I'll start with ones, I may throw a few fives in there when I can.

Cable update!
We did it!! We cut cable today. Can you believe they are charging us $12 to cut the stupid cable?? Ridiculous!! They had asked for feedback on how to make cable service better. DH said add that to your list for feedback, it's stupid to charge someone a fee to get rid of something.

But whatever, we are saving $145.49 a month!!!!! I'm so thrilled! Between that as getting rid of the storage unti, we are saving $310.49 a month! And we taped out Social Security for the year last month so that's another $200+ a paycheck. Need to sock that all away somewhere. Of course most of it will go to oil :scared: but we are already making plans to buy an area rug for the living room, heavier curtains throughout the house, and pellet type bricks for the fireplace.
Oh and last night the kids wanted to eat dinner by candlelight so we shut the TV and all the lights off in the house. I'm going to try to implement that at least 2 times a month so maybe that will cut down on the electric. OH speaking of electric, we pulled 2 of the 3 AC units out of the house last weekend so that will dramatically reduce my electric bill.

Wow Buffy, I love all of these changes you're implementing in your house!! They're brilliant! And yes, I can't believe they charge you for removing their service! Just trying to milk you one last time.

Dinner by candlelight sounds SOOO cool. I'll have to try that out sometimes.

Hey, is it too late to take you up on that picture of the Dalek poster offer? My cubicle needs some Whoving up.

Thanks!!

Looks like everyone is doing pretty well!
I'm 13/15 no buy days this month. Maybe I can hit 20?!

I really like that $1 idea. I have a change jar that most of my change goes into, but I know that I could save a ton more if I went with $1s. Maybe I'll start doing that! :thumbsup2

I too was doing the $5.00 in the change jar along with all change. Like you, I have down graded to $1's. After not working for the past 6 months things aren't pretty. Good thing I'm cheap with everything.
Our lives seem to be on the same path. I went to the cable company(Cox) the other day and showed them the quote I got from AT&T asking if they could match or even come close. The girl actually laughed at me and said "we don't do that. If you can get it for that price then go for it". So, that is what we are going to do. We also have a storage unit that will be empty by the end of the month. My car will be paid off next month.Between the 3 it will be aprox. a $640.00 savings a month. :cool1::cool1: Can't wait.

Two nights ago, I went to a buffet that was WAAY too expensive, but it was girls' night and the service was spectacular. The food definitely didn't match the price tag though. I've never heard of a weeknight buffet dinner that costs $27.

Also bought a new lunch bag. Been needing a new one for a month now!

I've had Starbucks about 5 times now, but I received a gift card at the beginning of the month and have been using that. Hooray for free coffee!

09/20- I'm not sure how to do my budget for this. I had to have a dental procedure done. I think I'm not going to count the bill against my monthly budget, but count the extras that have gone along with it. $45 in groceries (I needed soft food like soup, oatmeal, ice cream) and then a few extra things we picked up while we were out. $5 slurpees. Luckily we don't have a 7-11 too close or this would have been much higher. The cold feels so good on my swollen gums, I could probably drink them all day!

Congrats on the car being paid off. I wish we could do that but DH just got a new car and mine was kind of expensive so we have a long way to go before it's paid off, but it's a diesel so I get great gas mileage.

I wanted to do the AT&T u-verse but it's not available in our area yet.

I am totally off base with the budgeting. I hope to get back into it next month. I have 2 birthdays for DS10 and DS11 though so I need to get that worked into the budget.

9/1 - Target
9/2 - Not Good - trip to Orlando for IKEA shopping (Gas/Eating Out/IKEA)
9/3 - $0
9/4 - Co-Op day, I bought myself lunch (ran out of time that morning to pack it, I had packed the kids lunches the night before, poor planning on my part)
9/5 - Lunch out with husband, Target, Car Repair, Used Book Store, Groceries
9/6 - $0
9/7 - $0
9/8 - Target & Lunch Out (I am seeing a pattern here!), Groceries

I wanted to do the AT&T u-verse but it's not available in our area yet.

U-verse isn't available here either. The quote I was given was for phone, internet, and 230 channels. I think the quote was $78.00 for the first 12 months and then $128.00 for the next 12 months. Plus they will give me $150 in gift cards. Not a bad deal. Oh yeah, I need to agree to a 1 yr. contract.

Dang, that $150 would almost pay for an iPhone5!
That is a great deal!

They come to cut the cable on Monday and DH and I need to take the box, converter and cable card back.
We finished the spreadsheet too, and it looks like the only thing I have to pay for is 19 Kids and Counting and Craft Wars. But I can live without both.
The only thing I haven't found yet is Princess (on CNBC), I'll kind of miss that show because it helped reinforce the budget.
