Step Godchild? Is that even possible???

Inspired by the godparent thread.

Several years ago, DH and I were listening to the radio, and the DJ was having people call in "shout outs" to their friends.

A woman called in and said "I wanna send a shout out to my step godchild!"

How the heck do you get a step godchild????

Hmmmm, not sure. Unless you married someone who already had a godchild and you were "kind of" claiming them, too? I don't know, that's strange.

guess it's like the concept of "play sister" or "play cousin". i'de never heard of the term until i worked in a highly urban setting and learned about kids raised pretty much as sibs or cousins with no blood ties-sad thing is you had subsequent generations that truly thought they were related to someone until a legal matter came up and then learned the reality of their "relatedness" to someone.
