OMG!!! I knew I was avoided getting into scrapbooking for a good reason!
Let me start by saying that I still haven't finished a single page. (I have one for which I double mounted 3 pix at a crop & then decided I didn't really like the CM style, so it's sitting there waiting to be finished.) I got DD an album & protectors for Christmas along with a lot of paper, stickers & other embellishments. I spent way more on her than I should have, but rationalized that this was for a joint Disney book that we would work on together. I told her that as she was opening all that stuff on Christmas morning & we've been planning pages together.
OK - So today I ran out to AC Moore with 2 coupons because I wanted to get something for DDIL's b'day. (more Sizzix stuff) I found some great papers for AK, AKL & WL! Since the yarn was on sale I got 2 skeins of fun fur & never mind all the things marked "clearance" that I told DD we could get since they were on sale! Oy!
They told me the sale didn't include rubber stamp sets so I told DD she could only get the one tub with 9 Mickey stamps with a coupon. Well, she went to pay & they didn't use her coupon...so she went back & got the Princesses set and a set of 4 leaves. Now mind you, she took them to the register but it was MY $$$ she was using to pay with!
So we left ACM $65 poorer with only one Sizzix die (confetti) for DDIL. I'd wanted to check out Michaels for those Disney punches disneyfreakjackie told me about & since I still had a coupon I thought "What the heck!" DDIL is working on a Disney book right now, too!
I can't believe it, but I spent another $40 at Michaels! I got 2 mini brass Disney stencils (a fab 5 set & a pooh set), the beach Sizzlets for DDIL & 2 Mickey punches. They only had 2 Mickey punches & they weren't the brand DFJ told me about. Our Michaels seems so much more limited than some of yours are!
(Of course, maybe that's a good thing!
) BTW - DDIL will not be getting a Mickey punch as I decided I can't give them up! I'm evil I tell you!
Now none of this would be terrible as I'd gotten ~$75 cash for Christmas to spend on myself. The problem is that in the middle of the checkout line DD decided to tell me that she decided she was making an album of her own, which will just be everything....including Disney. That means she's planning on using all the Disney stickers, paper, etc that I got before Christmas in her own book. That means I'll have to go out & buy duplicates of an awful lot of stuff for all those pages I've/we've planned for "our" book!
I could just sit down & cry!
The good news is that I was really excited to see that AC Moore had quite a selection of Disney stickers (& sticker borders) I hadn't seen before.

) but this one was just too cool. It is from K & Co. and is called an "academic album". The cover has two cutouts - a square, presumably for a photo, and below it a rectangle. This has a laser cut brushed aluminum plate with the school name, mascot, and symbol. I'm not sure if this is something that K & Co, is doing nationally or if Scrapbook 101 is the co-producer/distributor for this. I've discovered that they are actually producing a fair amount of product for the scrapbooking world (how cool is it to be at the source?!)

The walking Mickey was only shrink wrapped & I didn't see a brand name until just now. It's on the side. The Mickey head icon is on a card but I didn't see "All Night Media" until I took my glasses off. I only saw 'Plaid' on it & didn't realize that Plaid & All Night Media were the same company. Those were the only 2 they had.
