OMG!!! I knew I was avoided getting into scrapbooking for a good reason! :earseek: ;) Let me start by saying that I still haven't finished a single page. (I have one for which I double mounted 3 pix at a crop & then decided I didn't really like the CM style, so it's sitting there waiting to be finished.) I got DD an album & protectors for Christmas along with a lot of paper, stickers & other embellishments. I spent way more on her than I should have, but rationalized that this was for a joint Disney book that we would work on together. I told her that as she was opening all that stuff on Christmas morning & we've been planning pages together.

OK - So today I ran out to AC Moore with 2 coupons because I wanted to get something for DDIL's b'day. (more Sizzix stuff) I found some great papers for AK, AKL & WL! Since the yarn was on sale I got 2 skeins of fun fur & never mind all the things marked "clearance" that I told DD we could get since they were on sale! Oy!

They told me the sale didn't include rubber stamp sets so I told DD she could only get the one tub with 9 Mickey stamps with a coupon. Well, she went to pay & they didn't use her coupon...so she went back & got the Princesses set and a set of 4 leaves. Now mind you, she took them to the register but it was MY $$$ she was using to pay with!

So we left ACM $65 poorer with only one Sizzix die (confetti) for DDIL. I'd wanted to check out Michaels for those Disney punches disneyfreakjackie told me about & since I still had a coupon I thought "What the heck!" DDIL is working on a Disney book right now, too!

I can't believe it, but I spent another $40 at Michaels! I got 2 mini brass Disney stencils (a fab 5 set & a pooh set), the beach Sizzlets for DDIL & 2 Mickey punches. They only had 2 Mickey punches & they weren't the brand DFJ told me about. Our Michaels seems so much more limited than some of yours are! :( (Of course, maybe that's a good thing! ;)) BTW - DDIL will not be getting a Mickey punch as I decided I can't give them up! I'm evil I tell you!

Now none of this would be terrible as I'd gotten ~$75 cash for Christmas to spend on myself. The problem is that in the middle of the checkout line DD decided to tell me that she decided she was making an album of her own, which will just be everything....including Disney. That means she's planning on using all the Disney stickers, paper, etc that I got before Christmas in her own book. That means I'll have to go out & buy duplicates of an awful lot of stuff for all those pages I've/we've planned for "our" book!

I could just sit down & cry!

The good news is that I was really excited to see that AC Moore had quite a selection of Disney stickers (& sticker borders) I hadn't seen before.

I do understand. I started with the Sizzix because I got an amazing deal on an alphebet on ebay ($32 for Lollipop uppercase) and ID DID NOT EVEN HAVE THE MACHINE! I rationalized that I could wait for the machine but DH got it for me for Christmas. Do you think I can stop buying dies off ebay? All I keep telling myself is "but they are such a good deal!" (conveniently failing to take into account the exchange at times). This is a sickness. I have the CIS Navigator, literally hundreds of $$$ in supplies, I am now bugging my DH to turn the spare room into a crop room and I have done I have done exactly 11 pages and one small 6x6 book for my MIL (left off the D on purpose, she is neither Darling or Disney!) Piratesmate, do you need anymore DIL's? I would be happy to trade for you!

LOL Unfortunately, I only have the one son & his wife is definitely a keeper! ;)

I hope that I'm not making her nuts! I seriously took a look at all the problems I've encountered with both DM & DMIL in the amost 30 years I've been married. I'm trying hard not to do the same types of things to my kids.

Re e-bay: I'm not even going to ask how/where you got that deal on the alphabet! As much as I'd dearly love to get DDIL an alphabet for it, that's going to have to wait until at least summer. (When I can then say it's for Christmas! ;)) I'd heard that the best you can do is $75, which is half price!

I have been watching the prices of other alphabets and I CANNOT believe what a good price I got it for. It was $32 USD and the same alphabet sells here for $245 CDN. I have seen some go for $50-60 as well, still a good deal. I did wait until the last minute to bid (literally, there ws only 3 mins to go). I don't have the kind of temperment to bid 3 days out and hope I get it.

Yes, this IS a sickness, addiction, call it what you will. My LSS had a 20% inventory reduction sale this weekend, and where was I bright and early Friday morning?

You got it! Now I did pick up the absolutely COOLEST album...I generally am loyal to Dalee (which my LSS now carries again :Pinkbounc ) but this one was just too cool. It is from K & Co. and is called an "academic album". The cover has two cutouts - a square, presumably for a photo, and below it a rectangle. This has a laser cut brushed aluminum plate with the school name, mascot, and symbol. I'm not sure if this is something that K & Co, is doing nationally or if Scrapbook 101 is the co-producer/distributor for this. I've discovered that they are actually producing a fair amount of product for the scrapbooking world (how cool is it to be at the source?!)

So about $135 lighter in the wallet I headed home. And headed right back on Saturday after discovering I was out of 8 1/2 x 11 white card stock as I went to scan and reprint some newspaper clippings for DD's book!

And here I thought I was the only person that had all the scrapbook stuff and have only completed two pages in two years. But let me tell you I have the Sizzix diecut machine the Lollipop Letters and Stickers and paper coming out my wazoo. And I just went to JoAnn's this weekend and spent another $50.00 on Stickers and paper. I need to have my head examined. :earseek:

Do you think there's a 12-step program for this? I'd consider going cold turkey on this, but I still need glue dots & decided to wait since they were cheaper at Wal-Mart.

After posting last night, I re-read a response to another question on another thread & visited the All Night Media site. BIG mistake! I wanted to see the other Disney punches, since my Michaels only had the Mickey icon & the walking Mickey. They had the Tigger punch on clearance, so I decided to order it while I still could. But the S&H was actually MORE than the punch, so I thought I'd order a couple more things "to make it worthwhile." (It turned out that there were quite a few things on clearance that I "needed."

Piratesmate did you get the brand new beach sizzelet? the brand new one with the lighthouse. OMG I love that! Neither ACMoore or my Mike's has it in yet. In fact are Mike's diecut shelf was so empty it looked like they were going to stop selling them. there not just super slow getting the new ones in!

Sadly, no. :( They'd have loved that one! DDIL's family gets a house at the shore for a month every summer. DS absolutely hates the sand in Jersey, so we knew he was serious when he started going to the shore with them for a week. ;) It's a tactile thing. He wears sneakers with socks to the beach!

He probably won't see the humor in the one I got, but DDIL will! It has the beach chair & umbrella and a flip-flop & footprint.

My Michaels seemed pretty well stocked with dies, although these were not in the same place as the other Sizzix things. I think they were on an endcap....all the Sizzlets were, which is not normal.

You made me curious, so I did a quick Google search for the Sizzlet since I couldn't remember the URL for the company. I got a hit for -ebay that has a Coastal Shape Set with gulls, fence, pilings & a lighthouse(I think!) Is that the one? There are still 6 days left with no bids; starting bid is $11.99.

I am in this club. LOL I started purchasing items and made a small 7x7 album of my now DH and I as an engagement book to have at showers and stuff. We got married in July and I just keep buying stuff saying this will be great for the wedding album or the honeymoon album or the one I plan to do for my sister. I've also gotten two of the CM Mickey albums that I plan to do. And now to make things worse my friend has gotten me into stamping so I'm keeping my SU demonstrator in business. I have however made more cards then I have scrap pages so thats at least a start.

WHAT?!? AC Moore has NEW Disney stuff?!? Good thing I get paid on Friday!!!

As for those punches that were a different brand . . . were they the same punches or do I have to hit Michaels too?!?
:earboy2:

The 2 punches I got were the same as 2 of yours. The walking Mickey was only shrink wrapped & I didn't see a brand name until just now. It's on the side. The Mickey head icon is on a card but I didn't see "All Night Media" until I took my glasses off. I only saw 'Plaid' on it & didn't realize that Plaid & All Night Media were the same company. Those were the only 2 they had.

As for new Disney stuff, I found quite a few stickers, including borders, that I don't remember seeing before. I mean a LOT of sets! I'm really not sure if they're new, or I was just not looking as carefully at AC Moore last month. However, Michaels did have Disney brass stencils - maybe 3 1/2 - 4 inch square individuals & sets of mini ones - that were new. I didn't see those at AC Moore.

Now I want the lighthouse sizzlet and the one you got. Flip flops how cute!! I just bought a cd shelf at Target to hold all my sizzix.
