We just returned from a 5 day stay at the Stein Erickson Lodge in Park City, Utah. We had a wonderful time. The lodge is beautiful and the staff is exceptional. I truly feel that this was a very good use of our points and we will be returning to the Stein Erickson in the future. If you have any questions, I will be glad to answer them. We are now gearing up for our first stay in VWL.:bounce:

Beautiful there, isn't it?

Although I prefer to be at The Stein when it's white and deep outside it's hard to argue with any stay. We actually got to ski with the man himself once and I could hardly keep up. Talk about a Nordic God! The guy's pushing 80 and still flys down the mountain, simply amazing.

It's been a few years, is the food as good as I remember?

The food was wonderful! We had sandwiches in the lounge the 1st night and then dinner the second night. We also had lunch outside one day on the deck.
I bet it is beautiful there in the winter with the snow especially if you are a skiier. The weather was just about perfect every day. It was high 70's in the day and lower 60's at night. We hiked, biked, and ate. We will be back!

But even if you're not. Deer Valley might be the best place in the world to learn the sport. Their immaculately groomed runs, fantastic Utah snow and patient instructors usually make for a great learning experience.

Glad to hear the food is as good as ever. We're on our way for President's weekend. Can't wait to go back.

Sounds like a really nice place. I bookmarked their website. What kinda of accomadations did you have?

We had a deluxe room with a king bed. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub that was big enough for two people. There was also a window seat that was perfect for reading. Daily housekeeping and turn-down service are also included. They really pamper you at this resort!

Do they have kids activities? Sounds wonderful.

How many points did it take? I know DH wants to try bsomething different than Disney next year or the following. I am trying to figure out a nice place.

Cora- The kid's activities are the same as adult's- hiking and biking and in the winter- skiing and snowboarding.

3Disneynuts- In the summer the cost is 27 pts. per night. This is a bargain for all of the services that you receive. In the winter it is 77-90 pts, depending on when you want to go. A buffet breakfast is included in the winter.

Thanks! I am trying to get as much info on where to go with the points next year. It would be amazing if I could get to be a pro at this stuff. It is all so new. But pretty soon I will be swapping like crazy! :)

We used points over Easter to stay at Keystone. At check in they informed us we had been upgraded to a 4 bedroom townhome in River Run, walking distance to the gondola. The place was amazing, huge nicely decorated, and very clean. It was a great use of points. We skiied Keystone, and Breckenridge, which is a short drive away. You are also very close to A basin for the more advanced skiers. We drove the Loveland Pass (not for the faint of hear drivers) It was a wonderful vacation. It's so nice to be able to use DVC points at so many locations, on a nightly basis. I will defintely do this again.
Nice to hear Stein Erikson is another good ski choice.
I would like to see a board here just about DVC other use options.

Keystone sounds great. I agree- I like hearing about all of the options that we have as DVC members.
