Steamed Buns????

I was looking at the menus for Herbie's Drive-In and it lists "steamed bun" What is this?

That would be my guess as well. Its a filled bun called a bao on a dim sum menu. They are really yummy and pretty cheap.

Yes, they are like the steamed buns you get in dim sum. The BBQ pork one is quite good, but the others are a bit bland.

The steamed buns are kind of like dumplings, but dough-ier.. Basically what would happen if you took normal dinner roll type dough and steamed it instead of baking it.

They're kind of small for the price you pay, too.

I was surprised that the Kona Cafe doesn't sell these as they are a staple in Hawaii... they are called manapua there.

Yes they are Asian and commonly called Bar B Q Pork Buns but they also can contain vegatables similar to an egg roll. They are very good and usually not that expensive but this is Disney World. I believe the TomorrowLand Noodle Terrace has these also at the MK.

Ummm, roast pork bao. When I worked in New York the Chinese restaurant across the street from my office building would sell them and soup from a little cart on the sidewalk in front of their restaurant. One and some hot and sour soup made a delicious lunch. I wish I could find them where I live now. Lotus Blossom cafe in World Showcase used to have them for lunch but the menu changed after their refit and they no longer do. I don't remember seeing them at the Noodle Station when I was there in February, but perhaps they have added them? That would be wonderful. And yeah, where is Herbie's?
