Has anybody taken the Steam Train tour at MK?

If so how did you like it?

How do you get to MK so early (7:15 AM)
I don't think the buses run that early.

We did the tour in May and enjoyed it very much. Very informative and you take thetrain back to the maintenance shed.

Some people have posted that it now also includes a breakfast which we didn't have.

The only way to get there early is to take your own car to CR and they will show you where to park in their lot. They have a list of people on the tour.

OR take a taxi. We had our own car. Most people who took Disney transportation joined the tour after it started (they missed about 10-15 minutes worth).

The train tour is very good (if you are a train fan). They tell you all about how the trains were found and Walt's love for steam, they take you to the Roundhouse (which is not round) and show you the machine shop and then they let you up into the cab of one of the trains that is still in the yard. The train that brings you back to the roundhouse will leave you there (so they can go do the morning show) where you will get about 30 minutes (give or take) to look at one of the trains, sit in the cab, etc and then the 2nd train that will be used for the day will bring you back out to the park. It is very informative and a great opportunity for train fans. They are offered Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday (Tuesday was just recently added). Breakfast/lunch is not included on this one but you do get a pin exclusive to the train tour.

As for transportation it is a little tricky because the Disney transportation is not running. As stated you can drive to the Contemporary, if you have your own car, call for a cab, or talk to someone at your resort and see if they can offer you a ride (depending on where you are staying, that is the time when the graveyard crew and the morning crew overlap so they will sometimes have a spar person that can drive you...doesn't hurt to ask).
