I'm sure the steam mop has been discussed on here before, but I saw that they have the Shark on sale at Big Lots this week for 40.00. I'm sure it's the basic one, but I would like to try it. I have wood and laminate floors in my home. Can anyone tell me if they like it or not????:confused3

I have the shark steam mop and the portable one and love them. The floor steam mop works great on my hardwood, laminate and tile floors, and I love that I can just wash the cleaning pads.

It heats up very quickly and is light and easy to use.

I just got the portable one (Kohl's on sale with a 30% coupon) and have used that to clean the doors of my kitchen cabinets and FINALLY got some stains off those that I couldn't get off any other way.

For $40 it's a great price, just make sure it has at least 2 pads (just so you have an extra).

You can buy the extra pads. I only use one at a time anyway. I think that's a great price. I have the Shark Pocket and love it, now I want to portable one for the shower.

The "Big Lots" add says it is "factory reconditioned". What does that mean?

Repaired by the manufacturer. It could be an item that was returned for any number of reasons some being damage or broken. The company repairs and get the item back in working condition and then it is factory reconditioned.

Darn. I was at Big Lots this morning, and I just mopped my floors thinking the whole time "I really need one of those steam mops to do this. Wish I could find one for less than $100" Looks like I am headed back to Big Lots!

Factory Reconditioned usually means that it was returned for some reason (may have broken) and fixed by the factory and is now being resold.

I'm so upset... I just called Big Lots in tow towns around me and they both sold out on Sunday!!! :sad2:
Soooooo.... Im now looking to compare the Haan and the Shark. Any suggestions????

Darn! Just called 4 stores around me and all are out. I wonder how many each store got in?

I was looking forward to finishing up my floor with one. :(

I actually bought the same Shark steam mop (factory reconditioned) from Big Lots months ago.....had to be at least 6 months I've had it now. I also have wood laminate floors and it works WONDERFUL!! I usually use both pads (that are provided)....one for the living room/kitchen area and then one for the bathrooms. I just pop them in the washer when I'm done. You should air dry them or if you use the dry, don't use a dryer sheet. I've seen extra pads at Bed Bath and Beyond.

 I think I'm going to go on to Wal-Mart and show them the Big Lots ad and they should honor it. There website has it for $56 and some change but if I can save $16.00 GREAT!! :cheer2: I'll try to post if it works for the person who wanted one too. I've been dying for one of these but couldn't bring myself to spend the $80-$100 they wanted. I think $40.00 is a steal!!!! I'll let you know tomorrow :goodvibes

my big lots has 3 different shark steam mop models all under 100.00....so there are other options at great prices.....i also bought the shark vacume at ollies for 99.00.....love it it is the bes vacume i have ever owned

Can you do this since the Big Lots one is factory reconditioned?

I will check out my Walmart. The website says the store price can be different than online so I wonder what it will be locally.

I went to my local Walmart yesterday but they didn't have the steam mop. I asked the lady at customer service and she said it would be honored at the Walmart across town. I'm going to go there today with the add I printed out. Just thought I would share for anyone interested. :goodvibes

I went to my Big Lots today to buy one. Took what I thought was the right one up to the checkout and it rang up $55. It just says 'Deluxe Steam Mop' on the box. They checked and said that it wasn't the correct one in the ad, but since they didn't have the one that was advertised, they gave me this one for the same price.

So for those of you who's stores were out, perhaps they would let you have the deluxe one for the same price? Only thing I see different about it is that it is blue, and comes with 3 micro-fiber pads instead of two. Otherwise it looks just like the purple one in the ad. Worth a try.

$55 doesn't seem like a bad price even if I can't get it for $40. I just have a hard time paying $100!

I got it!!! I got it!!! At walmart for $40.00 Determination has paid off!!!

WOW! I have never done a price match before-- do you have to go to the Customer Service desk or talk to a manager or just show the add to the cashier??

I just showed the printed ad to the cashier. When I printed it, it came out kinda small and the part about it being "refurbished" didn't really print where you could read it (please do't call the Wal-Mart police). But I did print where you could see the date. They said it had to be the same one and the date of the sale had to be visible. The cashier simply overrid the system and put $40.00 in. I'm so disappointed though b/c I had so much to do last night that I didn't even get to try it out. Maybe tonight!!!

Did you try yours yet?

I was able to get one at Walmart too--showed the ad and they matched. I need to see if it will actually work on my textured floor.

My DBf works at Big Lots and when i saw these, I grabbed it! I have had mine for over a year and love it!! Its factory refurbished but I can't tell a difference between mine and one a friend bought brand new. As far as the pads go I noticed WalMart has started carrying them as well....wash and reuse though goes a long way!
