Pirates & Blue Bayou Refurb

I might be misremembering which refurb, but I believe the last Pirates refurb had BB open part of the time with fences blocking off the view of Pirates.
Interesting. Do you have any idea how well attended the restaurant was during that time? I mean, the food is decent, but at those prices without a view of the bayou, why go there?

Yeah the food prices are not worth it without the ambiance of the experience. Still see reservations through end of April so still hopeful for both attraction and ride will be open into early may. I think it honestly just depends when Jungle Cruise reopens, doubtful they would have both attractions down at the same time in that corner of the park.

Man I hope not. This is my once in a lifetime dream trip and I don’t want to have to miss all the classics! I did get a reservation for dinner at Blue Bayou on 4/27 but same as others, if the ambiance isn’t there we will cancel.

Still have BB reservations for 5/1 but sadly does looks like Astro Blasters is officially down starting on the Calendar 4/13. Will be sad for my Toy Story obsessed son that two big Toy Story rides will be down in both parks during our trip.

If there are walls up when we are set to go in late April I will cancel our reservation. The food on its own just isn't worth it IMO.

How did you feel about your experience?
I thought it was fine. Our younger DD LOVES BB and POTC, so it is a must-do for her every trip. She is now 18, and we have been doing it on our yearly trips for at least 7-8 years. So for me, it is a time to sit down together, talk about how our morning ride strategy did (or did not!) pan out, and plan the afternoon. We find the food pretty good, so it was still “worth it” to us. But part of the value is just the nostalgia of sitting “waterside”, as we have done so many times on so many trips. We do share entrees and apps, so that helps the cost a little also.

That said, If you have never been to BB before, it would probably be something I would skip for a first visit, if the walls are up.

While if you go every trip its not worth it

I think the BB is worth it at least once, just an amazing place to dine and if you have the time...just like make the meal take as long as you can and just enjoy it
