Our teen goes to STK71 just for the cake. The whiskey flavor is subtle (cake is moist and not overly sweet) and she loves the taste more than the cake at Hollywood Brown Derby (simple chocolate cake). We even order a slice to go. They make it in house and the chef assured us there was no cross contamination with nuts!!! She had a reaction to a special order cake from the GF (scary few hours; got refunded; Benadryl worked eventually). It’s a must do for us. Ask for the raspberry on the side. It tastes good but is not necessary (cake is delicious by itself and I love raspberries).
And if kids and wife don’t want it, you can have the whole slice for yourself!
Edited to add Molly’s review (she has her own chanel now-Mammoth Club).
If you do decide to go, don’t skip the bread. It’s really worth the price. Also, they serve Tofutti ice cream for dairy allergies (our son has dairy/egg allergies).
We have had bad steaks late 2021 & early last year (chef was in training; supply chain issues bad cuts of meat) but in Jan 2023 their food quality was excellent. Crab cakes were still a bit overly salty.
I will add my question too, since we have been unable to land a SH71 adr…can you order the cake in the lounge? No desserts appear on the lounge specific menu.

Last March, you were able to do it on the mobile app. However, I noticed that it wasn't offered on the mobile app every day (like the Saturday night before I flew out on Sunday).
Actually now that the Steakhouse71 menu is offered to go (mobile orders) you can order the cake to go (December they were limiting mobile orders to onsite guests only):
Taking our son to Steakhouse 71 for his 21st birthday the end of the month. Ordered a celebration cake but thinking two slices of this beauty may be better. Thoughts?

The celebration cakes are nice. But THIS cake?? I go out of my way for this cake. Last year I was there on my birthday and it was the perfect birthday cake for me. It really depends on your 21 year old and his likes. But for me - I would choose the 17 layer chocolate cake over the celebration cake.
I'll be the one in left field here and say I found both the cake and the burger forgettable. Were they better than a QS burger and a cupcake? Absolutely. Were they the best cake and burger I've ever had? Not even close. I found them acceptable for the level of dining and price point they were at.
I will say I don't like aioli (because American aioli is just fancy mayo) so I did ask for it without which may have taken their perfectly crafted flavor profile and chucked it out the window. Also my sister trained and worked as a pastry chef so I am very difficult to please in that area. No obvious whiskey flavor in the cake and I actually wished there had been more raspberry but that's a personal preference. I did find the balance of cake and frosting to be pleasing as I often just scrape off the huge portions of buttercream they put on most Disney desserts.

DD16 likes the STK71 cake better than the chocolate cake at the cake bake shop. You can pickup a full cake from the cake bake shop (there was a sign indicating price and availability when we went in April; may need an advance notice).
You can arrange for a custom cake to be delivered to bell services by Daisy Cakes Orlando (had a great experience in the past). During dinner you can go pick it up and bring it in (maybe the front desk can ask the waitress to deliver it).
The Contemporary bakery has made custom cakes for us to be delivered at STK71 in the past but not sure if they’re doing that anymore.
If you have a MK restaurant booked they have special desserts for each location (lost slipper at CRT or crown; 1900 park fare has the glass slipper dessert as well)
Grand Floridian has a bakery team that can create a themed mini cake (size of a large cupcake) for $35
Cake is awesome one of me and my sons favorites, You can’t even detect the alcohol in the cake and we love raspberries but they weren’t over powering…. 1st time we went we got one piece and split it, last time we each got our own piece !!
