I had it in a restaurant in Kobe Japan back in the 80s. It was amazing. I buy American Wagyu from an Oregon farm that bought Wagyu cows back when Japan allowed it. It's 100%, not a hybrid like most, but also not the same as A5 Wagyu. Delicious, though, and we eat it in Japanese BBQ (yakiniku). We were thinking of buying the Costco Wagyu for Christmas. The stuff at my Costco is already thinly sliced, so all set for bbq. Having a whole steak of it just seems gross to me--it's meant to be sliced very thinly and cooked tabletop in yakiniku, shabu shabu, or maybe sukiyaki. A serving should be a couple ounces, so a single steak should serve many.
