I know everyone is gonna give me answers all over the place... but...

Assuming my ex goes with me... he said he wants steak while on vacation. Other than Le Cellier... where should we go for steak?

Are you on the dining plan? One credit or two? What do YOU consider to be a good national chain steakhouse?

Many of the Disney restaurants serve a steak. The only "steakhouses" left are Yachtsman (2 credits), Le Cellier (1 credit) and Shulas (at the Dolphin, not on the dining plan).

The signature restaurants all seem to offer a filet mignon, but if that's not his style, Yachtsman or Shulas may fit the bill.

If he's adventuresome, he might want to try the buffalo steak at Artist Point.

If you want to stay onsite-Coral Reef has great steak. I did not order it but DH did and I am dying to go back so I can have my own.:thumbsup2

Artist Point
Kona Cafe
California Grill
Jiko
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Flying Fish (I hear they have good steak; I just haven't had steak there.)

All those places have good steak. But check out the menus to see if there's anything that appeals to you, and make a decision from there. :)

Yeah I checked the menus... nothing really seemed to pop out. That's why I figured if I threw it out here, the place that got the most votes... you get the idea....

Thanks everyone for your input...

I suggested CaliGrill earlier. But, Coral Reef had a good steak too. On our wedding/dismoon, I ate the buffalo steak at Artist Pointe. It was fantastic and not "gamey" at all. Of course, I like a good venison steak, so my taste maybe different than some.

On our next trip, I'm trying steak at Le Cellier and Jiko and maybe Flying Fish.

Yes, I like some cow!!! :)

In addition to the places listed - Boma always has prime rib cut to order. I wouldn't say it's worth a special trip if you are looking to have a great STEAK per say- but if you are looking for something interesting for yourself that still allows DH to get his red meat fix, it would fit the bill. plus they have a great selection of salads and fresh fruit to counter all that saturated fat...

I considered changing out breakfast ADR to dinner ADR because of that reason. But my ex did not like Boma dinner. Thanks though... the prime rib is phenomenal there.

I only eat a filet, so there isn't a need for me to hit a steakhouse for a steak since most signature spots offer a filet on the menu as well. The best cuts I found were at Yachtsman, Citricos, Jiko, and Concourse (which is no longer).

If he likes a variety of cuts, the only true steakhouses are Yachtsman (5 cuts available), LeCellier (only 3 cuts available), and Shula's (8 cuts).

If he's thrilled with a filet, any of the signature spots will offer a very nice cut. I found Jiko to be my favorite, because I love the coordinating mac and cheese.

The filet with the mac & cheese always gave me the heebee jeebees... so many people like it though.. I'm not sure what he's looking for. For me I like sirloin, filet, and of course my fave porterhouse.

If we chose to go to Shula's... how do we get there? Can we just walk there or take a boat like to the Beach Club?

I'm assuming you're talking about how to get there from Epcot?

Since Shula's is at the Dolphin, you could take the Slow Boat from the International Gateway exit or walk past the Beach Club and Yacht Club, following the pathway straight to the Dolphin.

Or if you're at the Studios, you can take the boat from there or walk the pathway near the bus stop side of the lagoon. You didn't say where you'd be coming from, and that makes a difference.
