Steak at WDW

I have a question about getting steak at restaurants in WDW. When I get steak, I do not like any pink or red. I like my steak well done, but not burnt. Has anyone had any success getting their steaks like this? If so, at which restaurants?

Thanks!

There is no trick to getting what you want (even though it will probably make your waiter shudder). Just request it that way and you'll get it. When it first arrives and before the waiter leaves your table, cut into the center of your steak and send it back if its not done to your satisfaction.

My mother likes her steak that same way. The only hint I can give you (or any one ever ordering steak) is don't rely on "Well-done" or "medium-well" or even "rare" to order your steak. Tell the server what you expect "I would like my steak well done, no pink in the middle but not charred on the outside." Often when my mother orders filet mignon, it will come butterflied to ensure proper cooking.

and if it's not right, send it back right away.

I like my steak exactly the same as you described - no pink, definitely no red. I have recently discovered the best way to ask for it done is "as well as the chef would be willing to do it". I think this is a humble (for lack of a better word) way to request it without the chef feeling offended (also for lack of a better word). Just saying well done often ends up dry/charred. Ever since I started asking this way I've never been disappointed. Last night I had one of the best steaks of my life at Yachtsman Steakhouse and it was cooked to (my) perfection!

We ate at LeCellier and I ordered my steak well done. I like my steak with absolutely no pink in the middle. I even like a little charring on the edges. The waitress didn't mind putting my order in just like I asked.

Hey, I like this idea! Thanks! I too like my steak well done, but don't want it charred on the outside, but also don't want to insult the chef.

I've never really known how to order my steak to get it the way I want it. I'm
going to try this next time and see what happens. Thank you! :thumbsup2

I like my steak the same way. The best one I've had was at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. It was a filet, and they cooked it just right without having to butterfly it. It's the best steak I've had at Disney. I've had them butterflied at the Concourse Steakhouse and Le Cellier, and they were good too.

Thanks, everyone! I want to get steak at least once on our trip, but I won't eat it if it has any pink in it, but I don't want it charred either.

I appreciate your comments and I'm going to give it a whirl!

My mom likes her steak like that and they do it well every single time we go to Chefs De France! We both get a filet and it is wonderful!
