Steak and Shake??

Has anyone ever heard of this...my Uncle was raving about it and said we should try it out but he can't remember where it was or how the prices were only that the food was great. That is nice to hear but not really helpful ya know?
Any way he thought is was in Downown Disney but I don't ever remember seeing it

Anyone know of this place? What did you think?

Not Downtown Disney but not much farther away. You get on Hotel Plaza Blvd to Apopka Vineland Road. (Crossroads shopping center is at this intersection.) Anyway you turn left on Appoka Vineland. The Steak and Shake is about 2-3 blocks ahead in a shopping center on the right hand side. If you get past the ABC Liquor store you have gone too far.

Steak and Shake is a chain but not everywhere. Good food.

I have eaten a couple of times at Steak n Shake in Chicago. They have a great selection of food for a very reasonable price. The breakfast was excellent, and I had a burger and fries, which were yummy!

If you like milkshakes, make sure you get one. They are hand dipped, meaning made fresh to order with ice cream and syrup. No mass produced stuff in a machine like McDonalds. The Very Strawberry is my favorite.

Really cool, looks like they are opening locations in Texas, so I can check them out when I am in Dallas. Hope they make it down to Houston soon...

If you like shakes try the freezes (I think thats what they are called) the lime or orange are wonderful. I love their fries. They are the very thin "shoe string" type. OK now I wnat a chili burger, fries and an orange freeze. I guess I know where I'm going to eat soon. LOL

I LOVE Steak-n-Shake!!! My family always eats at the one right near Downtown Disney. The burgers are very yummy and the prices are very reasonable!

I wish we had them here.

There's one near my house. The burgers are very good but sometimes pretty greasy. My absolute favorite item is the old-fashioned cherry coke. Sometimes I go through the drive through and get one.

A double steakburger and a bowl of chili is my favorite meal at Steak 'n Steak, which is only a few blocks from our home.

I have to go at least once and get a vanilla shake -- the best ever IMO -- not far from DTD at all -- couple of minutes by car.

If you go, try the Frisco Melt Burger. Yummy, Yummy, Yummy.

Now, I don't know WHAT these other people are talking about with the milkshakes. The only kind for me is CHOCOLATE, and their's is one of the best I have ever had.

Luckily we have a Steak and Shake nearby, so I can get an occasional fix. Can't go too often, defineatly way over my Weight Watchers points.

If you are going to try Steak and Shake, I would suggest to go to the one in Kissimmee on 192. It is down near the Wal-Mart but on the other side of 192. The one in Lake Buena Vista is not the greatest. We have had a few problems in the three times we have eaten at that one, ranging from the milk not being refrigerated to food not coming out that we ordered, bad food, and having very poor service. Also, the place is not the cleanest. The one on 192 is much better, as far as both cleanliness and food go. We enjoy going to Steak and Shake, for the price it can't be beat.

Called Disney......downtown restaraunts are included. Restaraunts at downtown disney resorts are not.

We have eaten at the one near WM. Didn't even realize the other one was there until late this trip.

I love the grilled chicken breast with cheese & thousand island dressing. Think its on grilled sourdough.

WARNING: STEAK N SHAKE DOES NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE CASH. I do believe the last time we were there that they were now taking ATM cards (used with PIN number), but I don't remember if that was in Dis or in Madison, WI.
