I was hoping for some advice. Should I stay with the all star movies or should I upgrade to por? It will be me, my husband and our 3 girls ages 1,6 and 8. We have stayed at all star movies and loved it but I am wondering about the room size and having a crib! Is the food court nice and is the resort worth an extra 200 dollars? We are doing the FTP in November to celebrate my daughter;s first b-day. HELP

I've stayed at both and I think you should go with POR.

It will be VERY tight in and all star room with 2 adults, 2 kids, and a crib. POR is a very nice resort and I love it, if I hadn't been converted to the Deluxe resorts I would probably be staying there all the time.

The food court is nice and the have a restaurant, Boatwrights that is sit-down if you want to be waited on after a long day.

Anyway that my 2 cents.

POR is very nice, the rooms a little bigger. The food court is smaller and the theming is more adult oriented. Also there are multiple bus stops at POR as opposed to 1 at ASMo. Either way I am sure you will have a great trip.

Ive stayed at both twice and we prefer ASMO. The money saved is just a bonus.
We have had 3 adults, a child & and infant(crib) in the room and had no problem with space. Bus service has been better for us at ASMO and we enjoy both food courts. We never used the sit down restuarant at POR so I cant comment on that. At POR we felt like we had a hike to our room, whereas ASMO is compact and easy to navigate.
The thing that really hooked us at ASMO is the theming. Its so Disney!!! I know my kids prefer a huge Buzz or a MD hockey mask over nice landscaping.
The only thing we preferred at POR was the entertainment in the lounge...but when we are travelling with our 2 young DSs, thats not top priority. ;)

I've stayed at both and say POR is the way to go. Bigger room (AS rooms are tiny and that extra 40-50 sq ft makes a difference if you'll be using a crib), quieter resort, nicer pool with slide, quiet pools, nicer decor, sit-down restaurant available, good transportation to Downtown Disney, not as isolated...

I was having the same problem deciding. I was torn between the ASMo and CBR. I settled it by picking the WL!! Ha. With the FTP it wasn't much more and I am really looking forward to being "just across the lagoon" from the MK, as it is our favorite park. Our DD is 5 and LOVES the castle. I think she thinks that she is actually a princess and just somehow got "stuck" with us!!

I don't know that I will ever be able to afford WL again, so I went for it. I will be happy to book at ASMo next time and not feel like I am "missing" out on anything.

WL is a deluxe, but the prices are less than the other deluxes because it isn't on the monorail...taking the boat to MK.

have a great trip and let us know where you end up. :D
