Staying with friends first... how do we get our tickets?

We have been oh so nicely invited to share a treehouse with friends who are DVC members in October. We will follow that up with a couple of nights at the cabins at FW.

Since we are staying elsewhere to begin with, how do we go about getting our tickets if we book online with 2 nights at the cabins and 3 days of park hoppers? Surely someone has done this before... we won't have a resort key until Friday but we arrive Tuesday night.

Um. Help? :)

You can pick up your park tickets up to 3 days prior to the start of your package. Go to guest relations at any park and request early ticket pick up. We did this in December 2010 and it worked out great. All I needed was a photo ID, but others have reported needing their package confirmation number, so I would have that with you just in case.

Here's a thread that explains what to do http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1452684. Scroll down to post 15I.

Since you didn't say anything about adding a dining plan - just book a room only reservation for the cabins.

Buy your tickets from either Disney or Undercover Tourist and then you will have your tickets we you get there.

Yes, there is NEVER a reason to buy tickets in advance unless you want the dining plan too. Plus the advantage of a room only reservation is that you will pay your balance at check-in rather than 45 days in advance with a package.

Your friends should be putting you on their reservation so you'll have a room key for the treehouse, right? You will need that for EMH and other resort amenities, etc. If you decide to put tickets on your treehouse room key you can just continue to use that key card for your tickets when you are at the cabin or have the concierge move them to your Fort card.
