Hey all. I am going to WDW soon and I might crash in my brother's room. He has DVC points and got a very large suite. I heard that the DP is now available for DVC users, but what about their guests? Would I be able to purchase the DP? And if so, how?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Everyone on the reservation must purchase the DP for the entire length of the reservation. The dining plan will be paid at check-in. According to the CM I spoke with at Member Services, each person could pay for their own portion of the dining plan separately.

Maybe you need to clarify.

If it's a situation where you are a named guests on the reservation AND everyone in the party (including your brother, his family and other named guests on the reservation) ALL want the DDP it can be added, and you will pay for all guests named on the reservation. Sure, maybe they can help at the front desk letting you pay for part of the plan while other pay their share.......but the DDP will have to be added to the reservation for everyone in the party before check in. The DDP will not allow for you to be on the plan while your brother isn't. It's all or nothing for the party.

If it's a situation where your brother has a big villa and you happen to be at WDW and you stay in the room with him BUT you were not one of the named parties on the reservation there is no way you will be able to get the DDP.

Just wanted you to be aware that it isn't a maybe kind of thing that can be added at the resort if you do happen to decide to stay with your brother. It all has to be official and arranged in advance, then paid for at the resort.

Thanks for adding that. Yeah it's going to be that one. Meaning I was going to book a hotel (actually a whole package) but my brother got such a big room I can save money by crashing with him, and he can just add my name as a guest. His whole party is getting the Dining Plan, so I am happy to go along! I love the DDP and will do it as long as I can.

You also need to understand that the DDP has to be purchased by each member of the party for each night of the reservation. So if you are not going to be staying as long as your brother, you will still have to pay for however many nights he's staying.
