Staying positive for May trip (even though everything new is in June)

Our trip is 5/27-6/3 and I have been waiting on Soarin', Frozen, and A&E announcements that seem like they will never come. I was hoping for ROL too. We aren't going to AK, but I was hoping it would draw crowds out of the other parks :P. I know we will have an awesome time without them though. I'm still grateful the BTMR refurbishment got pushed back. That would have been disappointing! At this point I hope that the new attractions don't open on my dates. We only have 1 day at Epcot and I think it would make it crazy. Just more reasons to look forward to the next trip! :)

So I wasn't even thinking about catching the Symphony in the Stars fireworks while there and now since they have scheduled them I'm curious....Where's the best place to view? How long do they last? I'm thinking I seen reports that they could be seen outside of the park. Could they been seen at the Coronado possibly or Disney Springs?
That evening was going to be my Disney Springs night so I need to do some juggling.

We are there May 15-24th. I am bummed we will be some of the new things - but we love Flower and Garden - and like the posters have said - it's still Disney and vacation!!

Going to have a great time either way - and gives me something to plan for next year :goodvibes

Saw during your visit they have them may 22, 23, 25, and 27

May 27-30 in the parks for us and it sounds like I have a lot more searching to do regarding all this new stuff and changing stuff!

Thanks! We only planned one day for DHS on May 23rd and really hadn't even planned on making that a full day - was going to head down to Disney Springs in the evening. So now I just need to rework that day to make it all work out.

We are there the 20-30th. This trip has been planned for so long that I cant stress about what is open yet and what is not. This will more than likely be our only trip, at least with the kids, so it is what it is. Still gonna be a great time!!!

I'll be there May 21-24 and was hoping FEA would be up and running by then. Otherwise, I'm not too disappointed, although I think my brother was really looking forward to ROL. In the end, it'll keep my plans simpler without all the new stuff, and we'll still have fun...two of the other people I'm going with are first-timers, so they'll have lots of new things to experience anyway.

Our vacation is May 1-9th so I am disappointed too. Of course it is still WDW and we will have an amazing time but it has been 4 years since our last visit and may be that many more until our next. I planned our dates on hopefully getting the new experiences while staying away from the busier Summer months. Oh well, we are still blessed to be going on this trip just would have like to see the new Soar'in and ROL!

May 2nd-7th are my dates. It disappoints me as well. I think if I want to see the new things I pretty much go during the Summertime. I think I will plan a trip for June 2018 or something like that because I want to do D23 and DLR in 2017. There's also that part of me that wants to go to Japan for the country sometime before I get too old to enjoy it.

You can see them from Coronado very well. We watched them a couple of nights on the bridge between El Centero and the Cabanas (we were staying in business class cabanas 9b). You just can't hear the music or see the lower fireworks. If you happen to be in your room at the time they are scheduled they may scare you to death like they did us. They were so loud! Sounded like a canon going off!

We will be there 5/08 through 5/14. We thought we were so smart a few months ago when we snagged 5:30 ADR's at Harambe Market, and were ready to switch them over to a RoL dinner package. I guess they showed us, huh? :smooth: Still, as has been said, it's May at WDW with lower crowds, lower temperatures and F&G at Epcot. So disappointment can be tempered with anticipation of the other good things to happen and more memories to be made. Plus all that cool new stuff will be there for next time!

We will be there May 21st -31st. I am going to be able to change some plans to work Animal Kingdom in at Night on Sunday the 29th But can't get a day with the Star Wars Fireworks which stinks. Hoping they will Extend them to cover Memorial Day weekend crowds. Our only time to be there at night is going to be on Monday the 30th. I am bummed for the all the little girls that will be with us that unles something changes won't get to at least Meet Anna and Elsa at MK or Epcot now. Maybe they will open up the Epcot M&G even if they don't open up the ride.

5/10-5/18 here. Boy, these past few months, planning wise, have sure been quite the roller coaster, huh? As one previous poster mentioned, while disappointed that we'll be missing all of these new things, it's almost a blessing as being there when all of these open could become quite the cluster. This way we can eagerly look forward to them during our next trip while the inevitable kinks get worked out.

After all, it's a vacation to Disney World - I'll never be disappointed in that.

I'll be in Orlando from May 9-13. Originally it was going to be Universal only trip, but I ended up adding on a couple days specifically for ROL and maybe a chance for FEA (knew it was a long shot, but still...). But now none of that is going to happen, but I will get to see the Star Wars fireworks, so I'm looking forward to that. Just under 2 weeks to go! I'll hopefully be going back in March 2017 and can see all the new stuff then, of course I'm sure I'll miss Avatar Land, but oh well.

Our dates are 5/16-5/23 and yes, it's difficult just missing out on SO many things. One thing that's keeping me positive is that my kids are so happy that the BTMRR refurb was postponed. They were pretty bummed when they thought it would be closed.
